The Notorious SpeakeasyAmazing Escape Room - PrincetonEscape roomIRLThis was my second time at the Princeton location. If you go, ask for MAYA! She is the best game master at this location and probably in the whole company. The room itself was really great for larger groups. (We had 8 people and it was perfect.) it’s very non linear.
The Robbery | Pawn Shop RobberAmazing Escape Room - PrincetonEscape roomIRLHad a great time in this room at the Princeton location. The room definitely feels like a real pawn shop. Playing as robbers is a fun theme because you would never get to do something like this in real life. Went with a group that was a mix of beginners and veterans, everyone had a great time. Our game master Maya was so wonderful. She made us feel very welcome with it being our first time at this location. She explained rules concisely without dragging on too long, which was great considering some of us has heard the same speech so many times lol. I have been to other amazing escapes and it usually takes about 1-2 minutes to get a hint, which is fine. But with maya it was like 5 seconds max. And the hints were soooo helpful. Definitely coming back!! If you go, call and ask for Maya. Especially if you’re a beginner.
Escape AI [VR]Immersive Gamebox - San JoseEscape roomIRLDefinitely not an escape room in the modern sense. You are placed into a box with three projected screens around you, which you can tap on to interact with. The first chapter was very reminiscent of point and click flash games where you tap on objects to examine them and tap arrows to move around to different areas. The second chapter was mostly mini games like pipe puzzles or dragging one point to another like the “flow” app. They can track your position in the box using an overhead camera, so a few of the mini games were based on that. I’m not sure if you can lose the game, it seems like it is just a set hour-long experience. However, you can gain points based on how well you do in each minigame and that goes on a leaderboard that compares with other players.
SpaceAmazing Escape Room - MontgomeryvilleEscape roomIRLMe and my group had a great time in space. While I will say this room may not be for everyone (it is all digital puzzles, no codes), it certainly found its way into our hearts. It was verrrry difficult. I would not recommend it for beginners, but if you have some experience under your belt, you’ll be able to appreciate this room to its fullest. It starts out pretty basic, but towards the end there’s a few really unique tricks that we loved ( I won’t spoil anything here ). All in all, a wonderful experience for my group of veteran escapers.
