Molly's GameUntold Stories Experiences [prev. Down the Hatch]Escape roomIRLWOW, just wow. An absolutely fantastic experience. I am definitely not into scary escape rooms, but Molly’s Game has been on my list for a year – and it was therefore a must-play for me. We travelled to Amsterdam for only 24 hours just to play escape rooms, and Molly’s Game was on our list. At no point did I regret it. It wasn’t nearly as scary as I had feared. Benito was an amazing game master, calm, attentive, and incredibly good at reading his guests. You immediately feel welcome and in safe hands. The ending brought tears to my eyes, both because of the story itself and because the experience was over. I am so jealous of everyone who is about to play this game for the first time.
La Mina Madrid [Brown Experience: The Mine]Colors by Experiencity [prev. Hidden Escape Room]Escape roomIRLLa Mina was such a fun experience! It felt different from many other escape rooms we’ve tried. The use of loud sounds and the overall atmosphere made it very immersive and intense in a good way. You really feel drawn into the story from the start. The game kept us engaged the whole time, and the setting added a lot to the experience. Just a small heads-up: you will get quite dirty during the experience, so dress accordingly! We also had a really sweet and friendly gamemaster, which made everything even better. Overall, a great experience that we’d definitely recommend!
TaoBite The FlyEscape roomIRLWow this was very fun! It’s a very different kind of escape room where you really have to use your body, not just your brain. Don’t expect lots of super difficult puzzles that’s not the point here. The experience is much more physical and interactive! You definitely need to be ready to step a little outside your comfort zone and just go for it. If you do, it’s a blast. We laughed a lot and had such a good time.
La Entrevista [The Interview]Cubick Room EscapeEscape roomIRLWe were two people playing The Interview, and honestly…what a disappointment. The room itself feels extremely worn down and heavily used. It’s very obvious that it hasn’t been properly maintained. On top of that, it was almost impossible to hear what the gamemaster was saying. He spoke through the microphone constantly, and unfortunately with a really unpleasant attitude. I understand that he was trying to play the “boss” role, but there’s a big difference between acting and just being rude. To be fair, he did give us a lot of extra time and allowed us to finish the entire room, which we appreciated. However, when we came out, his attitude was the worst I’ve ever experienced in an escape room???He complained that we were the only booking that day, said he didn’t even like escape rooms himself, and didn’t have anything positive to say about the room either. It was a really unfortunate start to our trip to Madrid.
WantedEscape FactoryEscape roomIRL"Wanted" is a decent escape room, and it’s clear that the room is significantly newer than some of their others. It appears better maintained and more thoughtfully designed, even though it doesn’t offer any major “wow moments.” The puzzles are generally fine, and several of them actually seem to show that some thought has gone into how they fit the theme, which definitely enhances the experience. We came straight from the Enigma room, where we’d had an incredibly boring experience that was still weighing on us. That’s why I was actually glad we ended with Wanted, since it feels like a classic Danish escape room: without the big effects, but also without the major frustrations. However, much of it follows the familiar formula: plenty of padlocks, the classic Morse code puzzle (which nearly every escape room has used since 2015), and generally few surprises. All in all, an okay room that works fine, but doesn’t stand out in any significant way. A safe choice if you know what you’re getting into and aren’t expecting anything groundbreaking.
Experiencia Naranja: Aladino [Orange Experience: Aladdin]Terror Stories By ExperiencityEscape roomIRLThe set design is beautiful and immersive, and the atmosphere is very well done. Our gamemaster was absolutely fantastic. He played multiple roles and truly elevated the experience with his performance. You could tell he put a lot of effort and heart into it, and he was genuinely kind and professional throughout. Unfortunately, the puzzles completely ruined the experience for us. They felt random and disconnected, with no clear red thread or logical flow. Many of them were frustrating rather than clever. The hints were written in black text in dark areas, which made them unnecessarily difficult to read, and the English translations were very poor. In the end, we actually asked to be let out in the final room because we were tired of guessing instead of solving. It’s a real shame, because the room has so much potential. Even the gamemaster seemed aware that the room is in serious need of renewal and updates. With better puzzle design and clearer translations, this could be something truly special.
EnigmaEscape FactoryEscape roomIRLWow. This room was definitely not one of my favorites. It completely lacked a central theme, and many of the puzzles consisted mainly of very simple “look in the drawer/pocket/under the rug” tasks that were neither creative nor challenging. We ended up leaving the room before time ran out, as far too many elements required pure guesswork and seemed random rather than logical. It gave the impression that the solutions weren’t well thought out, but rather thrown together without any coherence. On top of that, there were no real “wow factors” at all. The sound in the room was incredibly low and didn’t contribute to the atmosphere, and much of the equipment seemed either worn out or didn’t work at all. Considering the price, the whole thing just felt completely off. Honestly, it feels harsh that they can get away with charging money for something marketed as an experience when the quality is so low. The only clear positive was the staff member, who was incredibly sweet and professional. She handled the situation really well, even though she was dealing with two guests who have played many escape rooms and were therefore clearly disappointed by the lackluster experience. Her way of dealing with the disappointment was clearly more polished than the room itself. If you really want to play an escape room in Aarhus, I might recommend their room “Wanted,” but only if you lower your expectations significantly.
