Creature Magiche [Magical Creatures]Magic Escape 2 - San GiovanniEscape roomIRLAs English speakers visiting Rome for a week we really wanted to try an escape room, and I'm so glad we settled on this one after seeing some positive reviews that mentioned having an actor in the room. It turned out our actor was our game master, who took on several improv roles within the escape room and was able to gently prod the game along without giving direct hints which makes everything so much more fun. His enthusiasm and commitment to his roles made it feel like a hybrid between a traditional escape room and almost something like a murder mystery party where we were trying to figure out ways to play our roles and manipulate information out of him. The way it worked was a few key materials in the escape room we were given pretty good English language versions of and for the few things in the room that were written out it had both the Italian and English translations, and the game master was fluent enough in English that we made it all work! If we had a timer going I didn't notice it so I don't know exactly what our finish time was but my husband clocked it out and from when we got there to when we left it had to have been under the standard hour. Accessibility wise this room has several sub-rooms that require climbing some steps and crawling through a narrow passage, ask in advance before booking if you have concerns on mobility or size for any of your participants.
