Escape To NeverlandOperation EscapeEscape roomIRLThis is a great looking room. Unfortunately the puzzles don’t live up to the quality of the production. There are a TON of combo locks and bit too much of searching for numbers on surfaces. Our preteen was able to help, our younger was not. Good looking room but not great for experienced puzzlers.
Dr. Panic's AsylumBond's Escape Room - ArlingtonEscape roomIRLThis is a terrific room and I think it would be a crowd pleaser for new escapers and vets alike. The puzzles flow smartly and run a gamut of pattern recognition, riddles, logic puzzles, traditional number ciphers and the like. Our family of four didn’t have much trouble making it out but we had a ton of fun doing it. The spook factor was fun and not terrifying but it was a bit high for the 7 year old. So fair warning there. One of Bond’s best and a great place to start.
Blind Tiger SpeakeasyOB-Xscape RoomsEscape roomIRLOur family was truly delighted by this room. As a group of 5 (with 2 kids and an elderly person) it stretched the limit of our time. The room is extremely puzzle dense. In 60 minutes there are literal dozens of puzzles to get through. Our favorite thing though? Just the huge variety in the puzzles. Lots of the type you’ve seen but even a few I haven’t seen before. The plot is fun too, great 20’s era music. Can’t wait to try the other rooms on future vacations.
Save the White House lllBond's Escape Room - FairfaxEscape roomIRLI really loved this room. No keys or padlocks, all high tech. Puzzles were mostly clever as well. Our GM was particularly great, providing clues when requested but not answers. Great experience with a large number and variety of puzzles but enough time for average players to solve.
The Frightful FeastBond's Escape Room - FairfaxEscape roomIRLThis was a fun room with a fun premise. Not the most high tech bond room nor the most low tech. A few of the puzzles really stretched the bounds of logic and one clue in particular the GM said they were going to paint over because it’s just bad. Still an entertaining room despite some design issues.
Saddlewood SaloonBond's Escape Room - ArlingtonEscape roomIRLNot bad. Pretty standard western themed room. With two adults and two kids we finished in 26 minutes, so I can honestly say we didn’t quite feel like we got out money’s worth on this one. Probably a good room for a beginner, especially with kids. Just too short.
The CureBond's Escape Room - FairfaxEscape roomIRLThis was an okay room. I like Bonds and I love their game masters (onyx was terrific). The plot was fun. The room itself was pretty beaten up and over reliant on combo lock puzzles (by my count there were 5). Worse yet, the locks themselves were pretty finicky. Couple of good puzzles (the board in the first room stood out). Others required some pretty silly jumps in reasoning. Basically this is fine if you are running out of area rooms, but a bit of a dud compared to save the White House or others at Bonds.
