PlaygroundThe Escape Game - Rancho Cucamonga [prev. at San Bernardino]Escape roomIRLOkay...so, Playground. Here's the deal with this, TEG advertises this game as being for twelve people; it's not. It is touted as TEG's easiest game, which is true....kinda. The game is built on busy work, so the way they designed the game for "large groups" is that it consists of a million different little things to do, as well as some stuff that just takes way longer than it needs too, so your group will finish all of the little stuff within a couple minutes and then just stand there and stare at the one person doing the really long thing until they finish and you can move to the next part. So the game has this really weird balancing issue where having a large group still ends up with a bunch of people standing around with nothing to do, while a small group means the game becomes nigh impossible because theres way too much shit to do. The puzzle design goes from average to poor, again with some just requiring way too much time. The game is designed around spectical, so the poor puzzle design is hidden behind the couple of "wow" moments with the special effects, hoping that those are the moments your remember, and not the 20 minutes you spent digging through books to try amd complete a crossword puzzle. This is probably fine for first time and casually escape room players and they are not as particular about puzzle design or story telling, and they just want to see something cool or interesting, which i guess this game will give them just that at certain points. It's cute, and works if your kid wants to have his birthday at an escape room, but if you're walking into TEG, there are four other, significantly better options that you can choose from rather than this.
Timeliner: Train Through TimeThe Escape Game - Rancho Cucamonga [prev. at San Bernardino]Escape roomIRLThis is my number one Escape room. Very high tech, very cool special effects, extremely effective puzzles, immersion set pieces, it's the works. Its only flaw isn't even with the game itself, its with all TEG games, that being public rooms. If you're in the area, and only have time for one game game, go for Timeliner. Again, like The Depths and Special ops, you want a smaller group for this, probably around 4, otherwise you'll be tripping all over each other
Prison BreakThe Escape Game - Rancho Cucamonga [prev. at San Bernardino]Escape roomIRLIt's fine. Like really, it's okay. It won't blow yourmind, but is a fun way to kill an hour before dinner. Split starts are always interesting, and this is their hardest room by a long shot. The games biggest issue is that there are a few things that are extreme easy to bypass, so if your an escape room purist, just remember not to brute fore anything.

The DepthsThe Escape Game - Rancho Cucamonga [prev. at San Bernardino]Escape roomIRLLike all TEG games, this is the same one you'll find qt multiple locations. It's a VERY Gen 2 type of game, IE the is some cool tech throughout, but still lock and key. Spoilers I guess, but this game has 6 different physical combo/padlocks that you'll have to solve. Fun game, it's kind of goofy as usual from TEG. Also, don't trust the 7/10 difficulty, people have struggled with this one more than special ops, which is an 8/10 from TEG
Pillow PalaceOpen Door Escape Games - Citrus Grove Closing Sept 21Escape roomIRLNot to be dramatic but I would literally die for The Pillow King.
The Amazing Argo: A Steampunk Adventure!Experience Machine - Upland [prev. Mind Suite]Escape roomIRLVery fun. I love steam punk and this room scratched that desire for a stem punk adventure. Owners and staff are incredibly friendly.
The Speakeasy by Sweet Escape GamesVector Escape GamesEscape roomIRLVery fun game. Lots of interesting puzzles and twists. Staff are supper friendly. One of my favorite secret doors in any escape room is in the speakeasy ^.^
Red Beards TreasureVector Escape GamesEscape roomIRLVERY cute room, however, it was extremely gen 1 and lock heavy though i don't mind lock and key rooms. Me and my partner were the very last people to play the speakeasy at this location, and we also just happen to be the last to play this one as this location is now closing ;-; Meaning we are the final group to ever play an escape room by them. We'll miss you, Vector, your rooms were a blast
Wizard EscapeUnity Escape Rooms - RedlandsEscape roomIRLThe decore and theneing was amazing, the staff were super kind and friendly, unfortunately however, the actual game itself was underwhelming and sometimes frustrating. The unique ideas of how you open things was fun, but the puzzles were underwhelming. Unfortunately many of the puzzles are just riddles, and much of the room honestly felt like a game of "guess what I'm thinking" I eill be back to try other rooms since the staff was so nice, but so far, not an amazing first impression
