Molly's Game
Down the Hatch
Escape room
IRL
Molly's Game is the favorite among favorites, standing out as one of the best-developed escape rooms I've ever played. The puzzles blend perfectly into the overall ambiance, and the rooms are beautifully designed, leading to a sense of disorientation that is intentionally part of the game. The atmosphere is breathtaking. The transitions between rooms are incredibly unique, creating a dreamlike experience. This aspect has been executed fabulously, unlike anything I've encountered before. Molly's Game is a must-visit for all escape room enthusiasts, regardless of their preferred genre. There was only one puzzle element that I didn't particularly enjoy, but that's a subjective opinion. Overall, it is truly one of the best games I've ever played. Absolutely fantastic!
Titkos Metró [Secret Subway]
E-Exit Escape Room Budapest
Escape room
IRL
Secret Subway in Budapest is highly regarded, and it certainly lives up to its reputation, as well in Gamedesign, but also in difficulty. The experience was immersive, with multiple rooms and an impressive number of puzzles. Despite being exhausting when attempted by just two players, the story remained engaging. The room had a vibrant atmosphere and included a special game element that adds to the uniqueness, though it’s best left unspoiled. However, the initial room felt abit cramped, raising doubts about accommodating three to four players comfortably. The puzzles were very challenging, making it unsuitable for beginners. Overall, the experience was enjoyable and allowed for full immersion into the story. One puzzle was unclear in its execution and could have been better designed, but this was with the help of the gamemaster a minor issue. Despite the difficulty, the room provided a rewarding and fun challenge.
Geisterjäger Brandon Darkmoor [Ghosthunter Brandon Darkmoor]
The Room
Escape room
IRL
This game is definitely one to remember. The ambiance throughout is incredible, starting the moment you arrive outside the building, which greatly enhances the vibe. You're given equipment to really immerse yourself in the role of a ghost hunter. The room features several unique elements that I don't want to spoil, but they are truly standout. This room is an absolute recommendation and ranks high on my personal favorites list. The use of light, sounds, smell, and tactile sensations was superb. The puzzles were unique, and the storyline felt like being immersed in a captivating book. The design was absolutely perfect, clearly showing the creators put immense thought into crafting it. The spooky vibe is well-balanced, providing a ghostly atmosphere without feeling threatening. All the puzzles tied seamlessly into the story, beautifully designed and highly engaging. Few rooms have left such a lasting impression. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a memorable escape room experience.
Stay In The Dark
Dark Park Vlaardingen
Escape room
IRL
"Stay in the Dark" by DarkPark in Vlaardingen was the most entertaining escape room experience I've ever had. Set in a vast industrial building, the game featured numerous elements I had never encountered before, offering unparalleled tension and horror. It was the perfect game, with so many escape routes and details to uncover, all while being in a state of panicked fear. The setup and design were absolutely immersive, making full use of sound, light, and live actors to create an incredibly chilling atmosphere. The actor's performance was perfectly timed, enhancing the fear factor without relying on cheap jump scares. The experience felt like a psychological thriller, building tension gradually and keeping players on edge throughout the 2.5-hour gameplay. Despite the high level of fear, the game was also incredibly fun. The sprawling 4,000 square meter setting allowed for a variety of scenarios, each more terrifying and engaging than the last. The industrial backdrop added authenticity, and the clever use of space and narrative elements kept the experience fresh and exciting. One unique aspect was the minimal use of traditional puzzles, focusing instead on the immersive narrative and interactive elements. This design choice allowed for a more fluid and engaging experience, where the story and environment took center stage. The finale was particularly dramatic, leaving a lasting impression and making the entire journey feel worthwhile. I was fortunate enough to secure the last ticket before the room closed. They're currently working on a new room, and I can't wait to see what they come up with next. The team's ability to create such an immersive and thrilling experience has set high expectations. Although I slightly injured my knee during the game, it only added to the sense of urgency and realism, much like in a horror film. Overall, "Stay in the Dark" was an ultra-cool and highly detailed escape room, with elements that kept me entertained and scared throughout. It's a must-try for horror enthusiasts and anyone looking for an unforgettable immersive experience. While the room is now closed, I'm eagerly anticipating what DarkPark will offer next, confident that it will be just as fantastic.

Dark Forest is an escape room that delivers an incredibly immersive and atmospheric experience. From the moment you enter, the setting feels like a scene straight out of a horror movie, with dense fog, eerie sound effects, and meticulously detailed props enhancing the spooky ambiance. The live actors contribute significantly to the tension, creating moments of genuine fear and excitement. The puzzles are well-integrated and provide a good challenge without overshadowing the immersive experience. The use of lighting and sound to build suspense is particularly effective. Dům duchů [The Haunted House]
The Chamber
Escape room
IRL
Haunted House, Part 1 is absolutely amazing, with an incredible level of detail that brings the eerie ambiance to life. From the creaking floorboards to the numerous subtle touches, the creators have gone above and beyond to craft a truly immersive experience. Despite the absence of actors, the room maintains a constant sense of light fear, enhanced by these meticulous details. The puzzles are perfectly integrated into the spooky environment, featuring unique elements that are both innovative and surprising. Without giving too much away, expect some truly memorable and creative puzzle mechanics that elevate the experience. The challenges are not overly difficult, making it enjoyable to navigate even with just two players. The overall experience is akin to navigating a classic haunted house, providing breathtaking thrills and a sense of adventure. I wish I could forget and replay this room to relive the excitement. Part 2, which shifts towards a laboratory theme, is also highly recommended for its well-thought-out design and execution. Both parts are among the best I've experienced in terms of ambiance and immersiveness.
Geisterjäger Ernie Hudson und die weinende Frau [Ghost Hunter Ernie Hudson and the Wailing Woman]
Skurrilum
Escape room
IRL
This is a uniquely crafted and beautifully designed escape room. From the very beginning, players are drawn into a story that feels like reading a comic book or novel. The puzzles are well-integrated into the room, maintaining a clear progression that ensures you never spend too long searching for the next solution. The storyline is both entertaining and captivating, featuring several intriguing twists. The puzzles are moderately challenging and fit perfectly within the theme, enhancing the overall ambiance. This room stands out for its cohesive narrative and well-thought-out design, making it an engaging and memorable experience.
The Amsterdam Catacombs
Logic Locks - The Amsterdam Catacombs
Escape room
IRL
This escape room initially gives the impression of being set in actual catacombs, especially when looking at pictures and its Google Maps location. However, a part of the game takes place in a regular church basement. This setting still provides a cool ambiance, though the first sections feature ordinary painted basement walls. The game transitions later into a more authentic catacomb-like style, with well-designed rooms and high-quality props. One unique aspect of this game is that it offers multiple endings, depending on whether you solve all the puzzles correctly and perform the right actions. Another notable feature is the inclusion of an actor, whose performance plays a significant role in the overall experience. While the game does not reach the level of horror found in some other escape rooms, it is of higher quality than typical games and provides a nice atmosphere with a storyline, that won't blow you away, but it isn't dull either. For those seeking a unique game in an unusual location, this is definitely worth trying. However, if you're looking for intense horror, you might be expecting too much from this game. Nonetheless, it is worth recommending, especially for its location and the use of live actors, albeit with the caution not to set your horror expectations too high.
Trezor: Tajemství Jacka Daniela [Safe: The Secret of Jack Daniel]
The Padlock Cemetery
Escape room
IRL
This Jack Daniels-themed escape room offers a beautifully crafted and unique experience. The puzzles are exceptionally original and fit seamlessly into the overall concept, providing a fun and engaging challenge. The ambiance is fantastic, and the progression through the game is ingeniously designed. However, the space is quite limited, making it a bit constraining even for two players, and the humidity in the rooms is relatively high. Despite these minor issues, the room stands out for its engineering creativity and distinct design. This escape room is highly recommended for those seeking a unique and memorable experience. It sets itself apart with its innovative puzzles and distinctive atmosphere, making it a standout choice for escape room enthusiasts.
Der Fluch Des Neptun [Neptune's Curse]
Hidden in Hamburg - Rickmer Rickmers
Escape room
IRL
The escape room set on a real ship offered a very cool and relatively realistic experience. Designed in a Neptune-pirate ship style, the fact that it was on an actual metal ship greatly enhanced the ambiance. The logical design of the rooms, allowing players to delve deeper into the ship’s interior, added to the immersion. The puzzles were moderately difficult, enabling the entire team to work independently and remain actively engaged throughout. Many puzzles were intricately tied to the ship's design, fitting seamlessly into the game's narrative. This coherence contributed significantly to the overall atmosphere. The unique setting makes this escape room highly recommended for those seeking a distinctive and memorable adventure.
