Black DragonEscape Room LAEscape roomIRLThis was a nice room. Lots of themed decor and very different room types. I went with a group of 3 and it was tough. The puzzles make sense for the most part but there’s just a lot to do. I think it’s doable with 3 people but you have to be good about filling in others about what you’re seeing/finding. A lot of the times we were in different rooms doing our own thing and it took time to figure out the current situation when we got the opened room that someone else was already working on. There were lots of unique puzzles and they made good use of the space. I’d recommend it to people looking for a medium difficulty. It’s probably easier if there’s more people.

Too many jumps in logic and too many things that eat up time if you try a solution without being correct. You shouldn’t have to waste 5 minutes trying to input a solution before finding out you’re wrong, and spend another 5 minutes trying a different variation. Some of the puzzles are super finicky. We had the right solution but the mechanism didn’t trigger so we ignored it thinking that would be useful later. We were talking about the solution out loud, so I think the GM should have noticed and asked us what we had to verify that we were right but it just wasn’t working properly. There were a couple puzzles like this. Also there was one puzzle that was really confusing for us and we used our hint on it but it felt like the GM wasn’t really explaining anything to us. And when we still didn’t get it, he seemed pretty annoyed and it felt a little condescending when he tried again. Overall, I think some of the props were cool, but I don’t think the puzzles flowed that well/logically made that much sense and I wasn’t a fan of the GM.
