Curse of the Hidden TempleExpedition EscapeEscape roomIRLThis has to be one of the best escape rooms I’ve done. It’s insanely immersive, you feel like you’re actually discovering a hidden temple. The puzzles are really well thought out too. 10 out of 10!
The Blind Tiger SpeakeasyExpedition EscapeEscape roomIRLHighly recommend Blind Tiger Speakeasy. The set design is super immersive, the puzzles are fun and flow well together, and it’s overall just a great experience!
PlaygroundThe Escape Game - King of PrussiaEscape roomIRLI absolutely loved this room. There was a wide variety of puzzles and it was super immersive. It was very non-linear. It was so much fun to play, I felt like a little kid! There was some mild physical activity (think climbing or crawling). Overall, I highly recommend this room!
One Night In The 90sMemphis Escape Rooms - East MemphisEscape roomIRLCompared to some of Memphis Escape Rooms’ other rooms, this one is alright. The set design is beautiful, we actually felt like we were in a skate rink. However, some of the puzzles felt like a bit of a stretch. We got stuck several times because we didn’t know how to get started, both at the beginning of the game and whenever a path ended. A couple times, I felt like “how would the average person think of that,” but it could very likely just be me being oblivious. Overall, I’d say this room was very immersive and fun, but the puzzles were alright.
The Egyptian Tomb: Imhotep's CurseEscape Room Mystery - King Of PrussiaEscape roomIRLRoom was good with a wide variety of puzzles. Very non-linear, but everything made sense. Really cool atmosphere.
Revolution Spies - Patriotism!Escape Room Mystery - King Of PrussiaEscape roomIRLThe staff was absolutely amazing and the environment was super immersive. There was a wide variety of puzzles which I liked. The biggest downside for me was how much sound echoed and how quiet any sound prompts were. I played with 8 other people (which I understand is a lot), but even when only one person was talking, our voices felt amplified in the room so it got very loud very quickly. At the same time, the sound prompts were very quiet. For example, we were told to pay attention to the video at the start of the game, but it was pretty quiet and did not have captions so it was hard to understand. All in all, I enjoyed the room and would love to come back to play the others, I just wish there could be some sound dampening in the rooms and maybe closed captions for any audio.
The Billionaire's Den - InheritanceEscape Room Mystery - King Of PrussiaEscape roomIRLRoom was alright. Some of the puzzles were a little confusing, especially getting started on them. Completely non-linear.
The Countdown: Covert OpsAxxiom Escape Rooms - NewarkEscape roomIRLI played this room over a year ago, so I’m not sure if the room has changed at all since I experienced it. That being said, here are my thoughts based on my experience last year: I didn’t particularly enjoy this room. The set design was beautiful and incredibly immersive. However, some of the puzzles were super complicated and difficult. There were also a few puzzles that could logically be solved a few different ways, so we wasted time trying to solve them the wrong way. Even though the game was pretty new when I played, parts of the set were already broken. We were also told to be very gentle with several different pieces of the set. Our game master didn’t seem to pay much attention to us at all. We were getting low on time and struggling with a puzzle so we asked for help multiple times, but we only got a super vague hint and we ended up not escaping. Overall, this experience wasn’t the best. It’s the only game I’ve played with this company though, so I don’t know if it was just a one-off experience. I wouldn’t mind giving them another chance and trying a different room some time in the future.
