We were in San Jose for the weekend and thought we’d give it a try - we loved how unique the puzzles were and how nice staff were! The room was super immersive and well themed too. The puzzles definitely took some thinking - it often took us a try or two to find the right approach.
Treasure IslandThe Room Escape GamesEscape roomIRLIt was an okay room… As far as positives, the theme was well done and immersive. The clues were unique in some ways which was appreciated, and there was more than one room to the experience (not really a spoiler, as you are told this from the start). However, it felt a bit half-baked in some ways. I suppose it was rated easy, but I still felt the length to be quite short. I was also surprised by how small the room was - for a room that allows you to book up to 12 people, there simply would not be enough room or clues for this to be a pleasant experience with any more than 4 people. Additionally, staff were a bit standoffish in a way that was unexpected compared to escape rooms we’ve done in the past. Before the room, the employees seemed simply unenthusiastic, and after, a different employee seemed rushed to take our picture and have us leave, even though we finished in less than half the allotted time, so it was not as if another group was waiting. It was just a bit off putting overall.
