7 Deadly Sins
Escapology - North Olmsted
Escape room
IRL
While I do consider this room to be one of, if not the hardest I've played, it still is so much fun. The immersion is some of Escapology's best and the set of puzzles is tricky but lots of fun and satisfying to figure out. The game puts the greatest of players to the test, dropping subtle hints from start to finish and making sure nothing is meaningless. Out of 20 escape rooms I've played at the time of writing, this one ranks 5th for me - bias aside.
Antidote
Escapology - Solon
Escape room
IRL
I played this room back in 2019 so I don't specifically remember much in great detail - but I do work at an Escapology now which has a revamped version of the room. Solon's location is very well put together, and this room is similar in quality, with the room being very well made. The puzzles were mostly easy and my family, who admittedly struggles with escape rooms a bit, managed to get out with 12 minutes to spare. I'll have to come back and play this version again now that I'm so used to mine, but I absolutely recommend Antidote both for a clean, quality experience, and it's a great room for beginners.
Antidote: Chemical Warfare
Escapology - North Olmsted
Escape room

I think this is a perfect escape room for inexperienced escape room players - the room is the easiest the location has to offer, but it is (as all escape rooms are) still challenging and requires players to think creatively and use teamwork to solve the puzzles. Some puzzles are trickier than others, but most of them are fairly simple and straightforward without being too easy. The theme is well put together in the room's design and makes for a fun, immersive experience. Out of 20 escape rooms I've played at the time of writing, this one ranks 10th.
Bank Heist
Escape Room - Cleveland
Escape room
IRL
Played this right after Cabin in the Woods probably didn't help, but this is definitely one of my least favorite escape rooms I've ever played. This is not to speak lowly on Escape Room Cleveland or even the room itself by any means, both the room and the company are well made and enjoyable! It's just that in an industry where I feel everybody makes a great experience, mediocrity isn't going to get you very far, and Bank Heist simply felt like a mediocre room. The design was fine, although the second room of the game felt very underwhelming and dare I say borderline pointless. None of the puzzles were exceptionally impressive, interesting, or difficult either. My one friend and I who have done a handful of escape rooms together got out with some albeit minimal difficulty.
Batman: The Dark Knight Challenge
Escapology - North Olmsted
Escape room
IRL
As a Batman fan and escape room enthusiast, this one will satisfy both types of people and will provide an incredible experience. Although some puzzles elevate this room to being one of the hardest I have played - with one puzzle in particular being super difficult, the set of puzzles overall is really cool and immersive; definitely one of my favorites. This room also has really cool technology and set pieces that I find to be rather unique to the room. Out of the 20 escape rooms I've played at the time of writing, this one ranks 4th.
Budapest Express
Escapology - Solon
Escape room
IRL
Trains just seem to make for a great escape room theme. Although the end puzzle was way beyond my intellectual capabilities, and perhaps one of the hardest puzzles in general out of any of the 25 rooms I've played, the rest of the puzzles were great, straightforward and fun. The set design and collection of props were also very well done and makes me excited to hopefully play the new version at Mentor in the future. There is also a very well done story integrated into the videos/audios.
Cabin In The Woods
Escape Room - Cleveland
Escape room
IRL
I think my reasons for enjoying this escape room as much as I did was 80% the room itself and 20% my game master, but that is not to discount the room by any means. This room's elaborate design that doesn't skip any details, combined with the (unintentionally?) cheap and creaky floors made this one of the most immersive escape rooms I've ever played. We (myself and one other) probably would've gotten out had it not been for us spending the first 10 minutes hiding in the corner because we were so scared! That can be attested to William, our game master, who made sure to explain that grown men had peed their pants in the room and the lock didn't work because someone broke it trying to sprint out of the room. Although it wasn't very scary in retrospect, the paranoia in the moment combined with the excellent design made this a room I'll be playing again just to see how some of my friends react! Out of 19 escape rooms I've played as of the time of writing, this one ranks 2nd.
Cereal Killer
Escape Room - Middleburg [prev. Trapped! Escape Room]
Escape room
IRL
If I'm not mistaken, this room is no longer at the location and was replaced following the ownership transfer from Trapped to Escape Room Cleveland. It should be noted that Escape Room Cleveland is a great company with lots of fun rooms, and this review should not be reflective of what you can expect by going there now. Trapped ownership, on the other hand, was awful - a lot of people share my sentiment regarding broken puzzles, sound and heating not working, and even being locked out of the building at first. I don't remember this room that well now, but I can assure you that you aren't missing anything.
Chocolate Factory
Escape Room - Strongsville
Escape room
IRL
I played this a couple of years ago (I think back in 2021,) and as an avid fan of Willy Wonka, this was a great time! Although only the first room really captures the essence of a chocolate factory, but all of the rooms do give the wacky feeling you get from the films. Although not all of the puzzles were entirely fitting to the theme and the way you actually win is a little bit unclear and strange, this is still a fun, mostly easy room that I'd love to go back and try again. Out of the 19 escape rooms I've played at the time of writing, this one ranks 12th - which is not to say it's bad or below average by any means. | UPDATE AFTER PLAYING AGAIN: Some of the puzzles were easier than others, but overall the room was a half decent challenge. I'm fairly certain that they're slowly just letting the room fall apart, though, as there's no way they didn't lose a bunch of a specific prop from last time. In addition, things were reset in the order they needed to be placed, and some of those things popped open prematurely anyway. Although not at fault of the room by any means, the experience wasn't as great as I recalled. Still fun for sure, but I do wish it was shown a little more love.
Deadly Manor: A Murder Mystery
Escape Room - Strongsville
Escape room
IRL
Although I admittedly do not remember this game that well, that does play a part into why I don't like it - the game was mostly forgettable and the only particular elements I remember are negative. The game itself wasn't particularly original or interesting, and the puzzles I can remember were tedious and at times overly difficult in my opinion. Out of 19 escape rooms I've played at the time of writing, this one ranks 18th. This should not be reflective of the experience Escape Room Cleveland provides both in their customer service and other games.
