Return of the PharaohsParagon Escape GamesEscape roomIRLWe played Return of the Pharohs and the set design, special effects, and overall presentation was stunning. It felt like we were transported to the middle of the Egyptian desert including sand underfoot. This game is way out of the way for most, but it is absolutely worth the trip. One note: there are loud sounds and some of the content may not be suitable for all people.
2084Olde City Escape GamesEscape roomIRLThe place: The location is steps away from the historic area of Philadelphia and if you follow the directions given on the website there should be no issue finding it. The entrance is a hallway, we buzzed the floor and were almost immediately whisked up to the game floor! The experience: The lobby has a funky vibe and is a decent enough place to chill while waiting for your game to start. I really liked the "cup head" style art that adorned the walls. Very cool. Our game master was a young lady who was very into her job, she explained all the do's and do not's of escape gaming, then gave us the story of the 2084 room. The puzzles were many and varied and we greatly enjoyed the room. We stumbled a few times as we always do, but the game master was there with a gentle nudge to keep us moving forward. I highly recommend this spot if you're an escape game fan. The bottom line: The Morty app strikes again! We were directed to this gem via that app and we were not disappointed. Look it up on your mobile platform of choice, it's a great way to find the best escape games. We highly recommend 2084 and if we lived in Philly we would likely try the other rooms in the space. Thanks for the great experience!
Lilith's LairUnited Escapes Of America - MesaEscape roomIRLWe are familiar with United Escapes of America and have completed many of their rooms. This room was on par with the previous experiences. The atmosphere is creepy and dark and there are plenty of puzzle to tax your mind. It’s not a particularly difficult room but it was still enjoyable. The props have seen plenty of escapes and are showing a bit of age. Warning: there is a moment where some may be frightened by pseudo jump-scare.
