Dr. Gem’s Time TrapMaine Escape GamesEscape roomIRLwow. this is possibly the best room I've been in. there was so much going on here and the puzzles had a really nice flow. I went with a large-ish group including children (10-16) and it was exciting with something for everyone to do for both novices and very experienced.
Espionage5 WitsEscape roomOther it was fast paced and action-packed, more heart thumping than what I usually play. it was on the short side, and it was disappointing to hear we had "unlocked two secrets" but not have the staff person be able to tell us what secrets we unlocked. I have a feeling that the "secrets" and the scoring system were just part of an automated rubric, and my experience of this short adventure would have been improved by knowing what things we found or what bonuses we tripped. all in all it was a fun time and I'm not sad I did it.

Whole truth: I design escape puzzles and every room I go to is research. I LOVE rolling up to something unique and surprising. This game is perfect for walk-ins or beginners, or even experienced players who just want a little bite. we did not solve in the given time and they didn't eject us; they just let us finish, probably since nobody was waiting. we were tired and I was busy really analyzing the components instead of just playing. I would absolutely return and do other puzzles at this location.
Magic Portal [Outdoor]Trapology BostonEscape roomIRLI chose this game because I was curious to see what the adventure pack was like and how they made use of an outdoor public space. the puzzles were fun and the course was well laid out. my friend would have liked the AR components to be stronger, but I was happy with them as they were. If you're looking for a very tense high pressure immersion experience, this is not the game for you. if you want a pleasant journey with some fun puzzles, absolutely do this.
