The RipperAha! Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThe ambiance was wonderful. If you are old like me and have over 40 eyes it was probably too dark. I did have to use my cellphone flashlight a few times to even have a chance. Gamemaster was good, we talked about when to nudge so we weren’t frustrated unnecessarily. I would recommend highly and would put this room in my top 10 list.
The DepthsThe Escape Game - Kansas CityEscape roomIRLThis room may have been too easy. The puzzles weren’t hard to figure out, in fact they may have made too much sense as the solving part went too fast. Maybe more subtle puzzles instead of the obvious in your face solutions. This room may need more puzzles. It has a fun element at the end, but it’s not really an escape room element. Over all good but not great.
Special Ops: Mysterious MarketThe Escape Game - Kansas CityEscape roomIRLPuzzles were good and made sense. Plenty for 3 people to work on without waiting around. Not necessarily a linear room, which I prefer non-linear rooms in general. Some unique puzzles I hadn’t seen before. Well done set and decor, quality products.
Omega Mart [Immersive Art]Meow WolfEscape roomOther Loved Omega Mart. It’s not an escape room per se but if you use the cards there is a solving element to what happened there. It was awesome. Takes a lot of time and has a good story.
The Sacred Lotus21 Keys Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThe atmosphere was great. Enjoyed that it was non linear so everybody was kept busy. Some puzzle elements were very unique. Never really got stuck on any one puzzle they were all figure-outable. Gamemaster did well keeping us on pace, just about perfect with nudges so we could see every puzzle. Glad we got to play it on the last day before the room is closed.
S.A.S.H.A: Home Of The FutureWild Goose Escapes - FullertonEscape roomIRLThe room seems well done. Non-linear is always a nice change of pace from typical rooms. Puzzles were not too difficult to solve, and I only found one that I thought required some sort of mental gymnastics to piece together. Customer service was lacking, the game master was unable to give us clues for about 5-7 minutes which affected the end of our game while we waited. No consolidation or apologies offered for their technical problem. Not sure I can go back for their other rooms as the situation sullied my experience.
Flight of Deception: The Royal TakeoverCodebusters Escape RoomEscape roomIRLI really wanted to like this room. The set in the main room was interesting and novel, but the gameplay was hard to follow. I thought the puzzles did not make sense and you had to take some pretty big logical jumps to know how to solve them. It felt like they had two separate ideas and tried to put them together. After the game we asked for clarification of the puzzle and that took too many tries to understand even when we had somebody explaining it to you. Overall just didn’t make sense and would not recommend unless you’re just trying to do all the rooms in the area.
Duel at DuskNew Mexico Escape Room - McLeod LocationEscape roomIRLThe room atmosphere was good, the puzzles were in line with the theme. The tech involved did not seem out of place with the era of a Wild West saloon. Room was fun to do without being excessively difficult.
Cyber StrikeTick Tock EscapeEscape roomIRLNo mechanical puzzles forcing you to solve puzzles to get out. Novel use of puzzles I haven’t seen anywhere. Pretty fun to solve with some down time while others were solving. Mostly linear room.
Martian MeltdownAlbuquerque Escape RoomEscape roomIRLGame was overall enjoyable. Puzzles were not overly difficult, but they made sense. Some lock and key aspects, which was ok with the theme. It doesn’t have to be high tech to be a solid room. Minimum 2 people but I would t have more than 4.
