Titkos Metró [Secret Subway]E-Exit Escape Room BudapestEscape roomIRLIt's always hard to live up to the hype, and we had heard a lot of good things about the room. It was great in many ways, with elements that impressed us, but also disappointed just the tiniest bit. Still; creative, professional and with a good vibe, we definitely recommend it. David was a wonderful game master.
A Nagy Pènzrablàs [Plan Budapest - Bank Robbery]NeverlandEscape roomIRLSleek design, everything worked very well, game master was friendly and the puzzles diverse. A little bit of crawling, but only one of the group needs to crawl, so it worked well for us as we had our mother trying out escapes for the first time. Very tech heavy, which was cool. Some previous knowledge needed, which is rare (e.g. a type of a popular phone game, and a certain language) but that didn't hinder us, and I'm sure most people can figure that out. Recommend this escape room wholeheartedly. The Neverland bar is also cool, and the cocktails delicious!
Der Schatz von Mystery IslandVerschlusssache Escape Room UnnaEscape roomIRLI'm an avid Monkey Island fan and I loved the references. Sometimes knowing the game seemed like a hindrance, and sometimes it helped. Decor was great and with lots of Monkey Island references. Puzzles were more independent of the game franchise, which makes sense, since not every player is friends with Guybrush Threepwood. I was the first player to play the game in English (Unna is perhaps not a very touristy town, and I went out of my way to get there to play the escape room), and this showed. There were some issues with the translations, but I had a German cohort and is somewhat proficient myself, so it didn't matter too much, and I'm sure they've ironed out the kinks since them. Is it the most genius escape room I've ever been to? No. But it sure is fantastic to be encompassed in the Monkey Island vibe, and I recommend it to every fan.
Happy HourReykjavik EscapeEscape roomIRLThis is honestly the worst escape room I've ever done. The decor is like someone threw something together in one weekend, the puzzles are literally scribbled with a pen to the wall and all in all the story is uninteresting, the puzzles uninteresting, the execution less thoughtful than what I plan for my 7 year old's birthday treasure hunt, and to top it off; the price is hefty. Iceland has beautiful landscapes. I suggest you go and explore nature, rather than escaping money traps.
