Vampire ManorMission X EscapeEscape roomIRLMy husband I decided to try this room and we went into it expecting some difficulty since most rooms nowadays are not designed for just two people. I really wanted to like this room, we've enjoyed Mission X before and the theme was nicely done. The primary reason we didn't like it was the flow and the difficulty in finding the information for what to do next. They do make heavy use of themed instructions, so as long as you follow those it generally leads you through. However, the puzzles are not very forgiving and it was very easy to get stumped on a single puzzle for ten minutes while the clue was hiding in plain sight. More than once, when we asked for a hint, it turned out we had failed to look at the back of a door or open a single drawer when the majority of the spots we checked were empty. The fact that we got information for the final puzzles way at the beginning really frustrated us as well. The last part that truly was upsetting was the GM we had. He seemed like a nice guy at first, but was handling the front desk, resetting a room, and running two games simultaneously - which meant we lost minimum five minutes of our game time to him not being available when we asked for help. He also congratulated us on our escape (we did NOT escape) as he let another group in the door. Overall, we were really disappointed in this experience, but we acknowledge that it would have been better with more people.
