漆黒の悟り [Shadow Zen]Studio Escape Daikoku-choEscape roomIRLThis is probably one of my favorites ever for all the reasons! First of all, the story is fantastic and really engaging. The decorations are incredibly immersive, and there are so many fun details to admire. The puzzles have a natural and logical flow, and there’s lots is always a clear goal presented. Definitely a must visit if you are anywhere remotely close to this place!
女王と国のために [For Queen & Country]Studio Escape NipponbashiEscape roomIRLThis room is very well thought out! The set is so elaborate at a large scale, and so very detailed too! The story is incredibly engaging and the puzzles always progress the plot. The puzzles themselves are very unique and always have you interacting with the environment. Tech is used in a very immersive way to enhance the experience, and is not excessive or distracting. There are so many details to admire, and also quite a few humorous additions! 2 people is the perfect amount!
The BirdMyssTic RoomsEscape roomIRLOverall, very immersive and all puzzles were creative and involved set elements. Also, the story was clear and compelling. There was a clear goal, and though there was a point where the puzzles slightly diverged from the goal, it all came together for a memorable finale. Worth the trip to Brooklyn for sure
Whatever Happened To The Garretts?Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLThis is more of an experience than an escape room. The rooms are phenomenal, in terms of props and set. However I was quite let down by the lack of puzzles. There are very few per room and occur in a very linear fashion. Definitely don’t bring more than 4 people. Props and other set elements sometimes had to be used, but more often than not, they were just distractions. The ratio of distractions to puzzles was unfortunately high. Definitely worth going for the experience but was disappointed by the puzzles (some just tell you the answer outright)
Wizard's Treasure60Out - HollywoodEscape roomIRLOverall was super immersive and fun. Pretty easy so no more than 4 people, otherwise you’d be done super fast. The set was great and all the puzzles involved set and prop interaction.
The Mush RoomEscape Room 66 - Los AngelesEscape roomIRLReally really fun theme! The gameplay involved a lot of locks and keys but it was so exaggerated it was really fun! Lots and lots of puzzles to do that were all well themed, so it would be a challenge for less than 4 people, but you could likely comfortably have 8 (and not stress about time whatsoever). The story was nearly nonexistent, but I rather that than a half effort story. The story was basically out of mind the entire time, but the theme compensated for that and the room gave us clear goals. Definitely worth a visit for the room, the unique gameplay, and great flow.
High Speed NYCExit Escape Room NYCEscape roomIRLReally fun set and the puzzles all fit thematically. Story was not well thought out and not compelling but fun room nonetheless.
Vault 805Two Trees EscapeEscape roomIRLThis was an average on! Nice variety of puzzles but really nothing out of the ordinary. Definitely not hard! Especially since you’ve got 75mins. Wouldn’t travel far to come here but if you were in the area, you’d be probably better off driving 40mins to LA to do a great one. The story was a bit vague but the theme was interesting enough.
Sugar RushExit Escape Room NYCEscape roomIRLThis was such a fun cute room! We found it really easy because it uses a lot of standard puzzles but for newer folks it would be a solid medium difficulty. A little homemade seeming, but super fun idea for story. Puzzles all fit thematically well, but the story was governed heavily by combo locks which was unfortunate.
