The Clock TowerEscape The Room - ChicagoEscape roomIRLMight have some bias because first failed room, but multiple components in the room were broken/or didn’t function properly or were already unlocked which led to some confusion. Made it to the last puzzle but spent 20 minutes trying to get 2 things to work properly that weren’t a puzzle at that point. People given hints were obviously monitoring multiple rooms and led to a lot of redundancy. When time expired we told them about the misfiring equipment, were told “that happens some time” and escorted out. This was obviously a great room back in the day but has fallen to wear and tear.
Jurassic EscapeEscape The Room - ChicagoEscape roomIRLDid this room with a random group after the Watch Tower. Room was fine, theme was great, but several broken components soured the experience. The main feature of the room was broken, which led to it just being open and a red herring when the apparatus didn’t work. The final keypad also wasn’t functional, so after many lovely video and audio touches the GM just had to come in and announced we won which was very odd. Opening was a lot of fun, lots of really great touches just a bit too much wear and tear.
