Crazy Train: The Ballad of Skeemin' PlotzDoldrick's Escape RoomEscape roomIRLAnother banger for Doldrick’s. Easy top 5 favorite of all time. Lots of fun. A bit on the easier side, but that just adds to the fun factor. Very unique in both set design and puzzle mechanics. Do not skip this one.
Captain Spoopy Bones and the Magnificent Quest For Some Other Pirate's Treasure!Doldrick's Escape RoomEscape roomIRLWe really had a great time with this. Not a very difficult room, but very fun from start to finish. We had a group of 8 and no one was ever standing around with nothing to do. It’s very mechanical with some interesting tech at the end. Again, just a fun time.
Spellbound13th Gate EscapeEscape roomIRLAwesome room! Every puzzle was thematic and added to the experience. Highly recommend.
Pandora’s BoxTrapped! Escape Room - Las VegasEscape roomIRLFun game. One very frustrating puzzle that can really only be done by one person, so for 10 minutes, it just wait and yell out suggestions every so often. We thought we weren’t doing to well when we squeaked out the win with less than 8 minutes to go. It turns out the GM said we were doing great so she added 4 more puzzles to the end. I LOVE that they can do this! Scalable difficulty as determined in game is an amazing idea that more should consider. Other than that one soloish puzzle, everything else was very manageable and there was a clear progression feel.
Super Bomb SquadDoldrick's Escape RoomEscape roomIRLEnjoyed this one as well. Not my favorite at this location, but still good. A little harder than the others I’ve played here. We had a group of 8, which was too many to fully enjoy the is room. I’d say 4, may 6 max for full enjoyment. Nice mix of tech and mechanical.
Special Ops: Mysterious MarketThe Escape Game - New OrleansEscape roomIRLRight up front, this company does not allow for private rooms unless you book all available capacity for the room. I was aware of this and decided to book anyway. I will never do that again. While not a terrible experience, it was certainly less than. The three strangers we played with did not add to the enjoyment but instead subtracted. It’s 2025. This should no longer be a problem. I loved the idea of the room itself. Nice puzzles that were not difficult but also not too easy. Had we been by ourselves, this would have been a 10/10 experience. The first half of the room was more mechanical with the second half very technical and innovative. Easily on of my top 10 rooms.
Tomb Of Anubis13th Gate EscapeEscape roomIRLAmazing set design. Fun puzzles (mostly). Almost great. This would be an amazing escape room if it were 2 escape rooms. It is, on purpose, too difficult / long. We made it to the last room when time expired. There were 12 more non-linear puzzles in the final room. The game master told us that most people don’t even make it to the last room. Some groups come back 3 or 4 times in order to complete it. This is a feature, not a bug. Great fun, but if you want to see the ending, be prepared to play it multiple times. Biggest complaint- there is a jigsaw puzzle element that cannot be circumvented. This is 100% a time sink and serves no other purpose and was in no way fun for us. Imagine everyone sitting on the floor doing nothing while 1 or 2 other people struggle with a jigsaw puzzle for 15 minutes.
Gold RushThe Escape Game - OrlandoEscape roomIRLDid this one with the family, including a 7 and 10 year old. We ran through it very quickly but had a good time. For us, it was a bit on the easy side, but for beginners, this would be an excellent room.
The Disappearance of Flight 1313th Gate EscapeEscape roomIRLAnother great 13th gate game. Technically, we didn’t escape as time expired as we were finishing the final step, but they did allow us to finish and experience the ending. Great set design! Nice, mostly intuitive puzzles. Smaller groups recommended. They have a 4 person minimum, but I would do much more than that. Easily my #3 favorite (behind Cutthroat and Spellbound).
