Treasure IslandBrain Games Escape RoomEscape roomIRL2 adults, 2 kids; gamemasters were very helpful in this surprisingly long room. Some really novel mechanics and a fun vibe.
InksidiousEscape Room 66 - Los AngelesEscape roomIRLThis was probably our favorite escape room so far. When we entered the lobby -- filled itself with fun games and toys -- we were greeted by the warm hosts and got a nice rundown about what to expect. After a nice chat, we headed in and got right to work. Puzzled nonstop till we opened the final door and got our reward!
Whatever Happened To The Garretts?Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLThis was the best escape room we've ever done. With a few hints from the GMs, we dove into the world of the Garretts and tracked them down. Really nice props and puzzles. Nostalgic for the dads and humorous to see the things the kids didn't know about life in the 80s.
The Smurfs60Out - HHLAEscape roomIRLGreat for kids, assuming you can focus them on the audio prompts, which really guide you through. Optional: Watch an old episode of The Smurfs before, to orient them in this world: Gargamel, Azreal, Papa Smurf, and the various vocation-related Smurfs. Really nice use of technology and a beautiful set.
Casino Heist II60Out - HHLAEscape roomIRLThere are some props/decorations reportedly left over from Casino Heist I that ended up being red herrings. But we had a good time, with guidance from the helpful GM.
Genie RansomEnchanted Escape Room - NorthridgeEscape roomIRLWe are pretty new to escape rooms, but we all (2 adults, 2 9 year-olds) had a great time at Genie Ransom. There were a couple bits that were unclear and in disrepair, but all in all it was a fun set of puzzles. The GM generously helped us smooth over some of the confusing parts.
