Frost Base ZRabbit Hole Recreation ServicesEscape roomIRLLoved all the puzzles and special effects! GM was very attentive and pointed us in the right direction. We always had enough tasks available simultaneously that our entire group of 5 was kept busy and engaged. Thanks to the staff for helping my partner surprise propose to me here!
Room 303 - Chapter 1303 Escape - Denver Escape RoomEscape roomIRLTough but great! We loved the story and can't wait to come back for the second chapter.
Prison BreakThe Escape Game - HonoluluEscape roomIRLincredible room -- the difficulty (in my opinion) comes from the sheer volume of puzzles. there are lots of puzzles with lots of pieces going on.
The HeistThe Escape Game - King of PrussiaEscape roomIRLI think this room is tougher than Prison Break. The first room was a bit of a pinch-point for us. We were stuck for a hot second. Our game master was awesome and helped us keep moving along. There were lots of great effects and ":O" moments.
The VirusCaptured in CoventryEscape roomIRLI did this room with my dad, a friend of mine, and many third graders for my younger sibling's birthday. We somehow made it out despite the little children moving things non-stop.
Puzzler's LairTenletters Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis was a great escape room for having such a small footprint. Our GM happened to be the guy who designed the room, which was super cool. He was so friendly and attentive before, during, and after the game. The hints we got from the folders in the room were the perfect amount of guidance without handing us the answers.
Moriarty's Gameroom: The Hunt is Afoot! The Great Escape Room - ProvidenceEscape roomIRLThere was something really satisfying about digging through the room looking for pieces LOL
Sherwood ForestEscape Manor - TorontoEscape roomIRLThe room was cool, but the group I was with (people I met at an academic conference) brute-forced some of the puzzles, so that was lame. But definitely not the room's fault so.
The Haunted Mine [prev. Mineshaft]HD Escape Rooms - WestminsterEscape roomIRLIn general, my group found the room way too dark -- we had a couple of LED lanterns, but they were not bright enough to solve many of the puzzles, some of which had faded/rubbed-off markings that could have used some touching up. We had six in our group, and we spent most of our time stuck in the first room, which was quite small (and very hot) for a group our size. Their website says that this room has a 60% success rate, but after we lost with about one-third of the puzzles unsolved, the GM told us we did the best she saw all weekend (we were there Sunday evening). She said that most groups don't even make it past the first room. Everyone in our group had done multiple escape rooms previously, and we found the puzzles to be generally unintuitive. While I appreciate an escape room business wanting to have a challenging room, we found The Haunted Mine to just be frustrating.
