It does a great job of creating the feeling of a mystical, magical, mysterious new world. The open world gameplay and nonlinear puzzles really help contribute to this feeling. You're not given much direction in this game, and there's no path or sequence to follow. It's really all about exploration.
Pirates!Escape Room Hilton HeadEscape roomIRLWe didn't book a private room. The venue charges extra for it. We were joined by an unknown family of four. Most of the puzzles revolved around opening locks with not much lateral thinking needed. There were a few technical issues like unable to hear hints in the first room, that hindered the experience. We did ask for a few hints but most of them told us that we were on the right track and should keep going. I personally don't consider that a hint. All in all, it lacked luster.
