Game On: UNLOCKED Arcade
UNLOCKED: Escape Room
Escape room
IRL
The aesthetics of this particular escape room impressed me more than the photos online. If you love arcades, you will definitely enjoy this escape room! I will say that the puzzles were a bit on the more simple and less complex side to my surprise, as I’m used to more puzzles where you need to think outside-of-the-box. If anything, I was more impressed with how immersive the room was versus the actual puzzle solving part, which is why I’m giving it a thumbs up instead of a heart.
Houdini
60Out - Silver Lake
Escape room
IRL
Note: My boyfriend and I personally thought that this room was SPOOKY because of how dark it is and because of certain audio noises. As somebody who gets scared pretty easily, I got spooked somewhat often and don’t consider this a “not scary” escape room. Other than that, I absolutely LOVED this escape room! The Houdini theme was definitely on POINT with the props and puzzles in this escape room. It’s a somewhat challenging room for two people, but luckily we were able to escape with 1 hint (we’re very stubborn with accepting hints & try not to unless we absolutely need it 🤭) and 9 minutes to spare! All of the puzzles flowed pretty well and it was a lot of fun! I highly recommend trying this escape room out!

Scooby-Doo and the Spooky Castle Adventure
Escapology - Las Vegas
Escape room

This escape room was very wholesome, enjoyable, and fun! It was just the right amount of challenging. I loved the amount of physical props to grab and the uniqueness of the puzzles. Also, there were two new escape room solvers in our group and we were able to escape just in time! Perfect for those who want a more wholesome experience and not a complicated type of room.
Santa’s Naughty or Nice List
Wild Goose Escapes - Irvine
Escape room
IRL
This was our first Christmas themed escape room and it was definitely a memorable one for the books! I loved the festive holiday music playing in the background as we dug through Christmas themed props and more. All of the puzzles ranged in difficulty from easy to slightly challenging. We actually made really good traction in the beginning, but slowed down in the middle due to one confusing puzzle that we overanalyzed and stumped us 😂 Regardless, an amazing, unique, and cool room nevertheless. I definitely recommend trying this room out!
The Depths
The Escape Game - Orange
Escape room
IRL
I love love love The Escape Game escape rooms and it’s one of my favorite companies! I personally got frustrated because this room was much more difficult for me to solve than other rooms so I wasn’t able to contribute my help as much (LOL). I felt I overanalyzed a certain puzzle so I spent way more time than necessary on it. Overall, I will say that this escape room definitely had a few unique elements to it (which I loved) so I’m giving it a thumbs up!
The Haunted Terminal
Intrepid Escape Rooms
Escape room
IRL
As much as I love Intrepid Escape Rooms, I did not particularly enjoy my experience at this escape room. No hate to the company or the escape room at all; it’s more that I honestly couldn’t solve ANYTHING in this room so it was more of a personal frustration than anything 😅 The puzzles are definitely unique and I loved one in particular (it’s so trippy), but I also felt other puzzles were not the best crafted in terms of convenience (aka one puzzle you have to solely rely on your memory and I wish there was a whiteboard or pad that you can carry with you in the room).
The Atelophobia
Countdown Live Escape Games

This was literally THE scariest and most memorable escape room I’ve ever done in my life - even years from now. I went with four guys and myself and we were SO scared throughout the entire time that we all even fell down on the floor as a group together when something unexpected spooked us, LOL. It was hilarious. The puzzles were challenging and fun, but the spooky elements definitely had this escape room seep into my long-term memory bank. Truly an amazing experience, even for somebody like me who is a HUGE scaredy cat. I wish it was still open, as I would 10/10 recommend it to anybody!
Escape from the Werewolf Village
Two Bit Circus
Escape room
IRL
If this is the same location as the one I played back in San Jose years ago, it was my first ever experience with escape rooms. I personally had a lot of fun with it but if I’m looking back, I wouldn’t have enjoyed this escape room at this current day because all of the puzzles were solved by hand aka they were actually all written puzzles and there were no physical puzzles/clues/items to find or utilize. Good for those who love mind puzzles, but I love the physical aspect of escape rooms as well. It was fun for my first escape room experience though!
Escape from the Time Travel Lab
SCRAP

I remember solving this escape room years ago (with a few strangers and we all left as friends because we ended up grabbing dinner together afterwards, LOL. It was challenging and fun!
Joker's Asylum
Omescape - San Jose

My friends and I had fun solving this escape room. OMESCAPE always has fun escape room puzzles and it’s one of my favorite escape room companies in the Bay Area!
