Truly a work of art. If you play one game in your life, play this.
Atlantis: The Forgotten City

A refreshingly puzzle-dense experience with tons of exciting room reveals and even some surprising kinetic elements. I imagine this could be hard to finish in time with a smaller group, but our team of 6 had a blast dividing and conquering. Puzzles were varied enough that everyone’s skill set had an opportunity to shine, and no one found themselves fading into the background.

A thrilling experience that is definitely a holiday overlay of an escape room with a very different theme. Still, I had a blast crawling through pitch black passages on my hands and knees while a demon elf chased me with a taser. Extreme mode made all the difference!
Escobar: Part 1 (The Betrayal)

This game would probably stand out if it were anywhere other than Los Angeles, but it didn’t feel terribly unique in such a saturated market. One puzzle toward the end was a smashing good time, but based on the other reviews, I was hoping for a game with a few more tricks up its sleeves.

A deceptively linear game with an incredible trick up its sleeve toward the end!

This game isn’t revolutionary, but it’s a fun take on a fairly standard theme with some neat set pieces and a few puzzles toward the end that really tickled my fancy. My team of three casual players escaped with 2 minutes to spare.
