The member of staff should roughly know where you should be at during certain points of the game. If customers are falling behind you need to give them more clues. As a player we have no idea how well or bad we are doing. Some of this is due to the shire amount of hidden elements to the game.

Did not enjoy the idea of someone talking to you over the speakers. Felt like they were spying on you. Even though I do understand they have got to watch you to know where you are in the game at all times and give relevant clues but personally I don’t like the idea of giving clues over the speakers. Escape room was really expensive and the pricing structure is complicated.
