Moriarty's ManorMindFox EscapeEscape roomIRLMy favorite escape room I’ve ever done! The sheer volume and variety in puzzles is the best part about it! They were pretty challenging but all felt doable. The hardest part is just how much there is to get done in one hour. My group had a range of experience level (intermediate to beginner) and everyone had a great time. The staff were all so friendly too!
Ghost LightMyssTic RoomsEscape roomIRLDid this room with my boyfriend and we both loved it!! The atmosphere and effects are where it really stands out. Puzzles are fun and satisfying but not too difficult. I do wish there was a little more or it was a little harder because we got out as a team of two in 40 minutes with no help. But it was a blast nonetheless so really nothing to complain about!
Houdini60Out - Silver LakeEscape roomIRLShort version is, the game itself was fun and I enjoyed the puzzles (mostly physical based which is a fun change!) but it’s seriously neglected and my group’s experience was overall disappointing. First off, DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME ON A HOT DAY. It was in the 90s when we went, nothing too crazy just a usual hot summer day, and the lobby area felt fine but the room itself was a SAUNA. One particular portion of the room which I can’t mention specifically without spoilers was beyond unbearable and my teammate was pouring sweat while in that area to the point we were scrambling to move the game along to get out of the heat. I almost never complain to employees but it was so bad I mentioned that the room was too hot to our game master after, and I was met with absolutely no response or acknowledgement. Second, the game is showing major wear and tear. One puzzle has paint that is just straight up so physically chipped/worn down it was illegible and, even though I knew what I was supposed to do in theory, I had to just manipulate it randomly. Also a bunch of little details in the room are looking worn down enough that one object I actually was supposed to do something to, I stopped interacting with because I just thought it was more room degradation and didn’t want to break it further. Perhaps worst of all, the sound system for the game master was all garbled sounding so we kept having to ask him to repeat the things he said and strain to try to hear him. Finally, the service at 60out was the worst I’ve experienced after around 10 different escape room companies. I don’t blame the game master himself but the management, because they are clearly not invested in providing a personal experience for their guests. The game master said almost nothing to us after we escaped, didn’t even tell us how much time we had left or offer to answer any questions about the room, and there was no opportunity to take a group photo. That wouldn’t have been a make or break for me normally, but after the heat and the condition of the room it left a bad taste in my mouth about the lack of care in this company.
