You and your group are members of the infamous New Jersey mob family. News has been released that one of your associates has just ratted out the entire family operation and is working with authorities. Having just sat down for dinner with your family, you now have to find a way to leave the country. News also indicates that the police know your location and will be there within an hour. Your only hope is a rumor you heard. Apparently, a friend named Richie is still loyal to the family and has offered to help you evade capture. If possible, you must rendezvous with him and get out of Jersey while you still can!

I’ve always had a positive experience at Escape Garden State! I love that their room themes are all “Jersey-adjacent” too haha. This one was the most challenging of the rooms here, in my opinion. I really enjoyed the progression of the individual rooms here too! Probably on paper the strongest room here, though Devil’s Den is my personal fav

My husband and I loved the Sopranos tribute. However, there’s so much to do within the hour; it’s almost impossible to complete within the time frame… And it’s $55/person every time. There’s absolutely no discount for 2nd attempts. I couldn’t help but feel that the company was money hungry, cold, and inflexible. We reluctantly went for the 2nd time because my husband wanted to see the end of it, and it took most of the hour even after zooming through the first portion of it. Just as the game master was slow to respond the first time we went, he was consistently absent the 2nd time and wasn’t even paying attention to us for a good 15 minutes towards the end. He had really bad bedside manner and didn’t make us feel welcome or cherished as customers. He seemed to lack passion for escape games, like he was just there to make money. The puzzles themselves aren’t too difficult, but the sheer number of them makes it more fitting for experts. There’s even videos that eat up a good amount of time in the middle…

Honestly didn’t think too much of the room at first and just did it because of its TERPECA nominee status. But having done it, I really enjoyed the room and as a huge sopranos fan it was gleeful doing an escape room inspired by the series. As the others have said, the difficulty lies in a ALOT of puzzles to do in a short amount of time, more than anything. Didn’t encounter any technical issues as other reviews mention. Definitely would help to bring more than 2 people for this room. But if you love Sopranos or just a fan of NJ themed rooms, escape garden state is a must visit.

Super fun! As someone who has lived in NJ most of my life so silly to see so many irl references in a room! The sopranos tells a story of the NJ mob life and so does this room!!!!

This one was so outdated and needs a serious fixing. Don’t go if you have little to no experience because even with experience I couldn’t get out of this room. The puzzles didn’t work or were so worn they couldn’t be read

This room needs an update ASAP. Everything is worn down and not up to date. It made it even harder to play through. It’s almost too hard to be fun. Some of the puzzles were just ridiculously overthought too. Disappointing tbh

Honestly the game was almost too hard that it wasn’t fun. One of the clues was pretty warn down and honestly didn’t stand out as anything but aging of the room. I think a room update could definitely be used for minor things like paint and technology updates.

The set was well made to set the scene. The game was long so game player needs to pace it well and not spend too much time on one part. One important prop was turned off and interfered with the flow of the game.

The Sopranos is still considered one of the best TV shows ever and for obvious reasons it’s still a Jersey favorite. We quote the show, recall favorite episodes, and still argue over the ending. Escape Garden State has built a clever room that is an homage to the show without overdoing it. Prior knowledge is not required but fans will appreciate all the references. Overall this is a room worth playing. The game is a standard escape room with medium level of puzzling difficulty. There were a couple of standard escape room puzzles that were so out of place as to be jarring to the theme. Other puzzles fit and were very original. There is much to do in this room, so keep the pace up. Our GM said many players do not finish because of the volume. We were there on a Saturday night and the place was packed with groups playing their first or second escape room ever. I think they would find this game very challenging to complete. We enjoyed playing the game. It was obvious it was made by some real fans! Play this game, and tell them you found it in Morty!
