You’re about to inherit a vast historic estate—if you can clear your name of murder. You are Robert Montgomerie, the only remaining direct heir to the Kildermorie Estate and the Montgomerie family fortune. You’re attending a family gathering hosted by your Grandfather, Hugh ‘Monty’ Montgomerie, the 9th Earl of Kildermorie, to celebrate the dawn of the new Millennium. As the guests raise a toast, a scream fills the air…and your Grandfather is found dead in the library. It looks like MURDER, and as the direct heir, all fingers are now pointed at you! Will hidden clues reveal distant family secrets? With the police on their way, can you gather enough evidence and piece the story together to provide your innocence? And the biggest challenge of all: Is it even remotely possible to solve the mystery before the clock strikes 12?

Mansion Murder falls somewhere on the scale between like and dislike, but if I’m torn between the two ratings, I like to side with the less extreme choice (dislike or love) and go with a thumbs up. The story was integrated with the puzzles and the set design was definitely up to todays standards for an escape room. It did feel like the GMs weren’t paying much attention to our game (we were told we had 3 GMs so I’m wondering if they’re running multiple games at once). We had to wait 2-3 minutes for a clue and were then asked if we had done X yet or completed Y yet. Aside from that the staff was friendly, so no complaints there. One of the puzzles was broken, so we just received the information we needed when we got to it instead of interacting with the puzzle. Our group had 6 people, which made it very difficult for all of us to be effective or work on puzzles at the same time, however, I think the experience would be more enjoyable with a smaller group when all props are up and running as they should be, so I’m giving this one a thumbs up.
None of the puzzles blew me away, and one of the props was broken. Somewhere in between like and dislike, but overall I can’t bring myself to dislike the gameplay, so we’ll give it a thumbs up
The atmosphere was one of the bests parts of this room. There was some noticeable wear, but overall a good set design for the story.
This is where Escapology seems to fall a bit short. The GMs were welcoming enough and certainly weren’t rude, but they definitely lacked enthusiasm and social interaction. None of that warrants a thumbs down, but the hint giving is what earned that rating from me. We needed 2 hints during the game and after pressing the hint button and hearing their buzzer ring from the other room, we waited 2-3 minutes to get a response. When we did we were met with, “Have you done this yet or have you done that yet?” It just felt like they weren’t paying attention to our game

The story was good and was integrated into some of the puzzles, but it was a bit hard to latch onto and half of our group had no idea what was going on by the end

We had 6 in our group, and it felt like only 3 or 4 of us could work towards solving a puzzle without getting in each other’s way. It was more linear so smaller groups will definitely enjoy this experience more than larger ones.

One of the puzzles was broken and had a paper sign taped to it telling us not to use it - the things we needed were next to it though

We escaped with literally seconds to spare and the rating of the room is definitely accurate! You need to use your hints and keep an eye on the clock because if you fall behind, its hard to catch up. The puzzles are super fun and I would say 4-5 people would be your goal!

The parking spots are right outside of the entrance.

This was not a great game, but it was not bad either. A janky phone prop just didn’t seem to work right. But overall we enjoyed our hour with this one.
