Welcome to the home of the great witch Agatha! Oh, many noble causes has she served! But after running afoul of a dark wizard, she has been stripped of her prized possession: her oak wand, from which her power was drawn. In a cruel twist, the wizard locked the wand away in a magically guarded trunk deep within the witch’s own cottage. Sad and forlorn, she has long since fallen into despair. Can you help her recover it and return to her former glory? Quickly, while the wizard travels to a distant land, enter the witch’s cottage and make your way through the many protective enchantments guarding the wand.

This room was pleasant enough, but forgettable. The puzzles all made sense and flowed, however we didn’t find them very engaging. The ending was anticlimactic. Supposedly when you finish and find ‘The Lost Wand’, music plays and a hidden door opens. However, this did not work (which the GMs knew about). We ended up spending an extra 5 minutes walking around aimlessly trying to figure out what to do next. We ended up making our way back upstairs through the game entrance door. It wasn’t until we were upstairs that we knew we had finished. Our experience at this venue (all except one room) was that when you finish, you’re expected to find your own way back through the unsigned hallways and upstairs to the shop where you may or may not be greeted by the GMs. This was a dissatisfying ending; especially in this case, where there is a known malfunction, the GMs should have been more involved in the conclusion.

More magic, more wands, more wizardry. I think once you play a wizard-themed escape room it can definitely feel like you’ve played them all but The Lost Wand turned out to be a really good time! Another banger set from Cloud9, my team and I had an awesome time navigating the space, dressing up, and making potions that put the half blood prince to shame. The easiest room on the roster, beginners and families would have a wonderful time with this one. Hard to find any negatives with this one, charming, whimsical, magical.

Witches' brews, secret passageways and a surprising amount of wands for a room called The Lost Wand, my team had I had a spellbinding time in this room. The flow left a little to be desired but each step did result in a new discovery that culminated in a final puzzle of the second room. Huzzah for collecting things. The puzzles were extremely on theme and the Witch Hut decor was a highlight for many of our group. One puzzle that was a bit unclear with the heights of some bottles feeling a little ambiguous, probably could use some work to make them clearer. A fun room made even better by the location and set, head on in and make a potion or two.

I was very disappointed with this escape room. The staff were late and seemed disinterested in their jobs. The room was worn out with broken clues that hindered the game. We had very recently completed the Pharmacy escape room at nearby MayDay escape rooms in Beechworth which was brilliant, so this room was dismal in comparison. I do not recommend this escape room.

Staff were very late & not very welcoming.

Was anything broken?

Yes

Many, many broken and worn out tools that really messed up the game. Wands with markings that had worn out. Jars of fluid that were not at the correct levels to solve the clues. The whole set up looked worn and beaten up.

Definitely good for young people. My mum has played only one other escape room, and she liked it. The set needed attention, even just a basic clean would go a long way, as well as replacing and fixing set pieces and puzzles. The vibe of the set was pretty cool, I always like a witch’s hut. Puzzle flow could be concentrated and improved, but mum had a great time connecting some of the matching symbols

Most set pieces were damaged, some that could easily be fixed with a screwdriver and silicone. Some needed replacing long ago.
