You are a group of patients at a psychiatric hospital. One of the doctors was convinced your mental illness was a sign that a demon had taken over your body and must separate your mind from your body. The experiment has already been performed on you but luckily something went wrong and you were able to reconnect with your body. All that is left is to escape but unfortunately the experiment didn’t quite work and you have no vision. With just your remaining senses to guide you, you must escape the hospital before the doctor realises.

‘Darkness’ was the first escape game we completed without vision. It was atmospheric, creepy and unique — an experience that truly sat with me for some time after completing the game. The puzzles were thoughtfully designed and sparsely situated throughout the rooms to clearly signpost which puzzle props belonged together. Those props in the experience were carefully designed to be easily distinguishable when compared to one another. We enjoyed ‘Darkness’, and we look forward to our next room at Quest Room!
Gameplay
Puzzles were sparsely scattered — which in a sight-deprived context works well. It was easy to figure out what went together, and what belonged to another puzzle in the same space.
Atmosphere
The audio experience was eerie, and the tactile elements were distinctly tactile and unique when compared to one another.

Lex and the team are always a delight.

Easy/medium depending on the team — I can see how it would be very difficult for teams if their strengths aren’t in spatial visual manipulation. The difficulty of a room is hard to determine at the best of times — my partner found this room very tricky, I felt it was quite easy. Go for a unique, well craft escape room experience unlike (almost) any other.

We kept postponing to try this room as we didn’t really like the idea of darkness. Only when we ran out of rooms to try, we booked this one. My husband and our dear friend were loving this one. They said it’s somehow very calming to think in the dark and we finished it under 20 mins 👍👍👍👍👍

I enjoyed this room mainly because it was a change of pace from the “normal” escape room. However, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone new to escape rooms mainly due to the lack of puzzles.

Interesting concept, it’s different trying to solve puzzles without sight. The puzzles were fairly basic and the room obviously would not play the same without the blind folds. Overall a different experience given how many I’ve played but not a fair comparison to other rooms.

Did this room as a duo, with my colleague never having done escape rooms before that day. We got out of this with half the time yet to go... Super basic puzzles, the only difficulty coming from being blindfolded, nothing further. I'd try all their other rooms before this one

This room is very much relying on the kitsch factor of playing blindfolded. The puzzles were very basic and straightforward. Still an interesting experience if you’re looking to try something different.

Incredibly cleaver room. Being completely deprived of sight is very different. The puzzles were fairly simple in nature but without sight, challenging. As a team you have to communicate really well to ensure you work together. Very well done.
