This was one of our first escape rooms and it was a challenge! We didn’t get there in the end, but really got us excited to get better

Good story, good variety of puzzles

Coming out to Elude I didn't really know what to expect. We had heard about Torquay but given the pretty unique room themes here I went in relatively blind. I think it's important to note that the rooms here are very challenging. They want you to get your hours worth after trekking out to Galston and thus room is absolutely chock-full of puzzles. I would say probably the most puzzle dense room I've played that even included a pre-warning from the owner that we'd need to solve a puzzle about every 3 minutes to complete the room under time. In saying this, I had an excellent time. We were busy for almost our entire hour and even got a little worried we may not escape, somewhat rare in our escaping old age. The puzzles were linear and clearly marked, it's so nice to know which lock is for what puzzle and not have to find out via trial and error. A clear sign of a room made for enthusiasts by enthusiasts. Julia and Darren were lovely hosts and the passion and love put into their rooms is incredibly apparent. We'll be back soon for more rooms, perhaps with reinforcements.

After hearing so many wonderful reviews about both Elude Escape Rooms and Torquay, I was very excited to give these guys a go and can happily report that I (unsurprisingly) had a fantastic time. First and foremost it’s important to know that the rooms you’ll find here are some of the most difficult and puzzle dense experiences in Sydney, even warned prior that a solve rate of 1 puzzle every 3 minutes is necessary for success; a challenge I was more than happy to tackle (that’s a lie I was stressed). What strikes you with Torquay from the word go is how immaculate the room is, every prop, set piece and puzzle looked incredible and operated exactly as intended. This is a real credit to owners Julia and Darren and their clear passion for both escape rooms and the industry. The puzzle flow here was unique, varied and seamless with everything clearly signposted, each prop had a purpose with absolutely NOTHING wasted, I loved it. With a charming little story that has a strong connection to the designers, it’s not hard to see how much love this room was made with. Even with all our experience, as a group of 2 we escaped with a little over 5 minutes on the clock, very daunting and very humbling. Thanks for having us Julia and Darren, we’ll be back for more rooms, puzzles AND PINS very soon!

Did this room together as a team of four. We completed this room after Perpetual motion so our brains got to warm up a bit. Loved the design of the room and how it was decorated. Had lots of puzzles to solve, some very creative that we hadn't seen before. Liked how all the puzzles matched well with the theme too. At no point did any of us feel bored or that we didn't have something to do. Everything flowed really well. We didn't finish within the time but luckily we were given a couple minutes extra and were able to escape in that bonus time. The escape rooms at elude definitely humbled us and gave us a good challenge.

Interesting room with various kinds of puzzles. We did this with a group of 4, and at times the sizes of some of the spaces prevented everyone being able to look properly at the puzzles at the same time. Otherwise great.

After doing perpetual motion, I was more mentally prepared on the challenging array of puzzles that Elude offers. The set design for this room is absolutely incredible and not even a single bit of space is wasted. Every part of the room has a purpose and it is clearly shown through design of the game. Puzzles are very thematic to the room and how you use items are inferred heavily by how you would use these items in real life!

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Torquay escape room, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable adventure. Our hosts, Julia and Darren, were gracious and welcoming, setting a positive tone from the very beginning. Their passion for the game was evident, especially during the engaging debrief we had after our escape. The room itself was beautifully themed, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship of true enthusiasts. Every detail was thoughtfully designed, immersing us in the experience. The puzzles were challenging and unlike anything my usual team of two had encountered before, pushing us to think outside the box. One puzzle, in particular, stood out as pure magic when we finally cracked it—it was a real highlight of the experience! Although we needed a bit of bonus time to complete the room, we left feeling incredibly satisfied and accomplished. We’re already looking forward to our next visit to try out the other rooms and are excited to see what future plans Julia and Darren have in store. If you’re a fan of escape rooms, I highly recommend Torquay for a memorable and challenging adventure!

After failing an escape room for the first time with Framed, we had lunch and came back to tackle the slightly easier Torquay — and failed again! What a humbling experience. Torquay is an absolutely beautiful room with some fantastic props and the most incredible puzzles of any room I've done to date. Such an astonishing array of challenges that stretch the limits of not just your brains but also your senses. Despite failing to finish, we had a fabulous time and can't wait to come back to try their other rooms. Elude's rooms are easily among the best in the country. Definitely worth a visit or two or three!
