Escape The Hydeout

This room was just okay for me. Our game masters were fantastic - they were super helpful and really hyped us up - which made the whole experience better! The main challenge wasn’t the puzzles themselves (once you knew what you were supposed to be looking at, they weren’t too tough), but more figuring out how one puzzle connected to the next. The jumps between them felt random at times, which made it tricky to stay in the flow. The polarity theme was unique but overall, (besides the one puzzle with the bottle), the puzzles didn’t tie into it in a way that made the room feel especially memorable. After the fact, our game master pointed out details that made us ooh and ahh. I would go for the other rooms in this location but this room is still very enjoyable and a good time.

Did not enjoy this game at all when we played a couple years ago.

This is a brain intensive room where you will need more brains than brawn to figure out puzzles. It took us about 10 minutes, and a clue, to get us moving in this room but once we got going, we were able to move things along until we hit some clues that just didn’t make sense or we couldn’t figure out what clues went with what puzzle. While there are a lot of locks in this room, it often took 2 separate steps to solve the puzzle to get the combinations. The rooms are well designed and feel appropriate for the story and the time in history when the story takes place. Nothing feels out of place or time. We have completed 3 of the 4 rooms available at Mission Escape (a 5th room is being constructed) and this was the hardest of the 4 rooms because of the broken flow between puzzles. We did escape…2 people, 4 clues, 58 minutes and 40 seconds.

This room was just eh. GM Iris was amazing, and was extremely helpful. The main difficulty if the room comes from linking one puzzle to the next, as it can be confusing what the room is trying to get you to look at or do next. The puzzles themselves weren’t super hard outside once you knew what you were supposed to be looking at, but the leaps from one puzzle to the next felt sporadic and seemingly random. The theme was cool but the room doesn’t feel super memorable, as the puzzles were cool in concept but didn’t really connect to the theme so ended up as forgettable.

Another fun room with great puzzles!! Seemed like their most difficult room overall.

Fun, well designed set for a mysterious Dr. Hyde room. We found ourselves kind of overthinking a couple of the puzzles but overall everything made sense and felt logical.

This is a critical thinking heavy room. If your favorite thing about escape rooms is solving puzzles, this is a great one for you. I definitely wouldn’t play this one if you’re all beginners, but the difficulty isn’t insane if you’re a long time veteran. The atmosphere was well done, but not all that special. Game guides are always wonderful at this location. Play this one if you want to think. I just wish it was more memorable. It’s one of the more recent rooms I’ve done, but I don’t remember much about it.

Diverse set of puzzles, our group had a mixture of experience levels but everyone had a great time The theme was well done and had some really clever puzzles. The GM, Tiffany, was really fantastic. Would highly recommend
