Jacob van Dijk has been a fisherman all his life. When he was at sea with his fishing boat, “The Black Seagull”, recently in all weathers, he lost his balance due to a sudden, high wave and fell. Although it could all have turned out much worse, the unfortunate fall turned out to have unpleasant consequences. Jacob broke his leg in the fall. For the time being, it is impossible for him to go out to sea and so he can forget about fishing. What now? There will have to be bread on the table… In order to be able to leave “The Black Seagull” as soon as possible, Jacob has no choice but to quickly find capable sailors who are willing to help him in this situation. Although the weather forecasts are favorable for the time of year, the North Sea remains unpredictable. For the time being, Jacob assumes that it will not come to that. He assumes a safe journey…

The Boat from Escape World, which is a franchise that exist in multiple locations across Europe. Where the quality tends to be more standard. This is an old-school escape room with a heavy reliance on padlocks, but the atmosphere was well-executed and added to the experience. Out of the four rooms I’ve played at Escape World (The Grand Prix, Gold Mine, and The Inca’s Doom), this ranks as my second favorite. It’s a solid choice for newcomers or if you’re struggling to find something else nearby.
