The Harbor Hotel was founded in the 1990s by Herman and Ann Biesma , together with their son Dieter, they ensured that it was a pleasant place to stay for various travelers from home and abroad. Dieter is an insecure young man and it is all because of his difficult childhood. In primary school he had a really hard time with the persistent bullying and in secondary it only got worse! Life at home was also not very pleasant for Dieter , thanks to his father who regularly abused Dieter's mother. Dieter, thinking it couldn't get any worse, faced the biggest shock of his life. His whole world was turned upside down…

We enjoyed the Chernobyl game on a previous trip, so we had to come back to try Harbor Hotel, and I’m glad we did. We’ve played quite a few horror-type chase games and this one was more puzzle-y and less endless chasing, making it very enjoyable. There were some unique puzzle types mixed in with some standard stuff. Kudos to the game host for making it fun, especially when they fixed a small goof-up from a misplaced item.

Maybe the most fun I've ever had in an escape room. An absolute must-play. Wear sneakers, you'll be using them. This isn't "horror" thematically, but there's some running, sneaking, tiptoeing and video-game style actor interactions, which make this game a joy to play - and a hilarious post-game watch with the GM (they film everything and then you get to watch the highlights). Our debrief lasted 30 minutes - only thing missing was popcorn. Also: good puzzle!

The setting, the actor engagement, the story - they were all really positive. The puzzles were varied and well integrated into the story. It had the right amount of spookiness and tension for me, without being straight horror. The only small negatives for me were some parts were too dark.

Good set, reasonable puzzles. There were some memorable, hilarious mishaps of our own making which perhaps gave us a more positive experience, but I'll also give credit to the game for creating the opportunity for those mishaps to happen. Like many horror games, lighting was dimmer than I would have preferred.
