Permanently Closed - Abandoned in 1986, the Chophouse lies dilapidated, like an unwanted memory of our past. You have fantasised about the sights inside, until one evening, you could not contain your curiosity. You have made it. You have found your entrance and you have found your way in. Eager to explore, you skip down the dimly lit corridors gleefully. It has been three decades since a single footstep has echoed within these walls… or so you thought. Stumbling upon a collection of worn photographs, you find images of other captured souls, tortured and tormented. Yet still, your curiosity urges you to continue, thumbing through old boxes, each photo more sick and twisted than it’s predecessor. One particular photo catches your eye. A person starved. Excruciatingly thin. Mouth sewn together and eyes bleeding crimson tears. You struggle to breathe. As you look closer, you realise the date printed on the photograph reads the very day you entered the chophouse.

We went for the hardcore version and very glad we did it gives you a totally different experience and atmosphere before going into the escape room. Well thought out puzzles and the room flowed well but would have liked a little bit more live actor within the room itself.

Being manhandled is great fun and I love how creative the game masters get. I had my shoe stolen and smacked over my head and shortly afterwards, received a photo of the dude holding it to his ear like a phone. The room itself however is quite lacking, very worn in places and the final puzzle took us 25 whole minutes to figure out due to the ink being worn out. The puzzles aren’t great and the music and sound effects in the room are so loud you can barely hear each other speak.

We did this a few years ago now - the hosting was great if different to anything else we've done. We loved the jump scare within too. It's still one that we remember and talk about a long time after - more for the immersion, the feeling in the room and the interactivity.
