499 escape rooms
My understanding is that Urban Escape Games bought this game instead of designing it, and it shows. Their in-house designs (which you can find at their other two locations) are generally quite good: this room was … not good. There are a couple of nifty effects in the set but the puzzles overall are just bad. You also have to translate a huge number of documents using the game’s “hieroglyphic” language which is both tedious and absurd. We are exploring the tomb of an ancient pharaoh that has claimed the lives of previous explorers, but there is a handy-dandy plaque on the wall mapping pictograms to English? Someone alert the British Museum, we can dump that old Rosetta Stone. Not recommended.
