The Showdown

To avoid our main frustration, make sure both teams understand how to open the example lock in the waiting room. Though ideally the company will swap the lock (or instructions) with something more intuitive. We enjoyed the competitive aspect between the two rooms and found the puzzles in general to be interesting, otherwise.

Someday Morty may institute a "meh" rating. When that happens, I'll have to update a few of my reviews. This will be one of them. It's just ok. First off, Nerd Escapes runs HARD rooms. They aren't bad, just hard. A lot of their rooms are older, this one included. So while this room compared to their others has a bit more "tech", it's older tech. The theme is good, standard gangster with Godfather homages. No major surprises. I would recommend this only if you want to try to knock out everything or if you have time between other rooms. (Come for City without Sun, Dracula & Chernobyl.)

I absolutely love this business and the people that work here. They are always so accommodating because I play solo on work trips. This room was an absolute blast. Definitely on the harder side when you are solo. Love the theme.

Solid room. We didn’t play with two teams but it can be done with only one without losing anything. This was our first room with this company. High quality design and puzzles.

An amazing experience full of fun puzzles, would suggest. But, we didn’t have a team to play against still fun though.

Liked but did not love the room. We didn’t have a enough people to do the race/“showdown” which is probably part the appeal for this room. A little frustrating with one of the puzzles which we were able to follow logically but messed up in execution which wasted a lot of time. Another puzzle just was not intuitive but that’s part of the challenge I suppose😀. We were given an extra few minutes to finish because we were so close which I appreciate so much! Failing leaves such a bad taste but even a slightly bogus win is still a win!

In this room, your group is split in two and faces off in two identical groups to see who can get the jewels out of the safe first. It was really fun to face off.
