Carnival Of Curiosities

Shockingly bad in pur opinion. Felt like a waste money. The venue itself is really run down and very bad odour. There was so much in the game that didn't make sense, to the point where a code was given to us and there was no explanation where that code came from. I asked three times for a clue before given one and could here staff talking in the next room so not paying enough attention really to what we were doing to make pur experience enjoyable. I was really looking forward to this one but it was terrible and such a disappointment.

The whole room felt dirty, the lights didn't work and from the GMs admission they had been broken for ages and no one had fixed them. The puzzles themselves were easy but the flow was bad and confusing and it made the room harder to move through. I would not recommend.

Such a let down.. I know that sounds harsh and not a review lightly written! Having done my fair share of escape rooms, sadly this would come to the bottom of the list. The location, underground musty smells, very slapdash… looks very juvenile. Before we entered the room we were told, “some of our tech equipment is rubbish so we might not be able to give you clues, no worries I’ll just open the door to peep one through” We set out instructions, if you see us struggling an unusually long amount of time, give us a little pointer in the right direction. We had to get 4 clues, either the room wasn’t set up right or something didn’t work how it should, doors didn’t open, a pop up box didn’t open… it just felt so MEH! The GM entered the room and gave us the answer to 2 padlocks because we “looked like we’d been on them too long” we hadn’t been on them even 2 minutes. Was told we successfully escaped by the GM walking into the room and saying… well done guys how did you find it! Such an abrupt finish to the game! Wasn’t given a time card or told how quickly we didn’t it, I’m saying around 45 minutes ish judging by times on phones! A very tired room that could do with gutting and replacing!

A fun game. Played with parents who aren’t massively into escape rooms. Was lots of fun, quite low lighting at times but makes it more fun. A good twist on the carnival theme
