We do NOT recommend this room, and after playing two different games at two different Royal Escape locations in Panama City Beach, FL we do not intend to return to play any others.
  The first issue is that it appears as though they have one person running the front desk and the same person introducing and monitoring all of the games.  Needless to say, they were very slow to respond when something didn't work or we needed a clue.  In order to get a clue you're supposed to wave at the camera and/or ask for a clue, but we waited for multiple minutes on clues because they weren't in a position to monitor the game or were slow to respond.
    Overall, the game, while being immersive, just didn't make sense.  We've now done over 60 escape rooms and this game had no flow.  They do not allow a clue in the first 15 minutes so we were stuck just wandering around a very small room (difficult to believe you could put 6 people into the room) trying to figure out what to do to get started. Nothing in the intro video or available in the room got us started.  Finally, when we received a clue the clue was ambiguous and inaccurate, and seemed to be canned leaving the game master unable to make it any clearer. 
***SPOILER: in our case we were told to remove a number of items in a row based on audible clues.  In reality, we needed to remove then replace the items in a specific order to make the puzzle work, which is NOT what the clue said.  We worked on that puzzle for almost 20 minutes when it would have been simpler without the misleading clue.  Other clues were similarly ambiguous.***
   It's unclear if items worked correctly or not.  In one case we moved some items around according to the instructions but they did nothing.  Later, we did the exact same thing and they opened a drawer.  We don't know if the items had to be manipulated in a specific sequence in the (lack of) flow or if they just didn't work.  As stated, there didn't seem to be any flow overall.  We would just do something and something would open/activate, then we'd do something else.  Maybe they were related, maybe they weren't.
  On a plus note, because we'd played a game at the other location we were given a discount on this next game.  We would have been better off not having played at all as it was more confusing than fun, even after reviewing what should have happened with the game master.  We've only had one other similar experience in all of our games.

My family has gone through many different types of escape rooms over the years, but this was probably the first actual pre-fab single-room setup.

It’s obvious this is not run by actual escape room enthusiasts, because of the pre-fab nature of the rooms not to mention the lack of interaction from the start.
