I really liked this room! It was fun and creepy. I love scary rooms and this one was incredibly fun. There were only two puzzles we got stuck up on, but it was smooth sailing after that. We were changed to advanced without us knowing so I don’t know what puzzle was included versus not but I felt like the puzzle I THINK was included was not that difficult. We did solve one puzzle without doing the puzzle and the gamemaster informed us that no one has ever done it but she allowed us to do the right puzzle while pausing our time which was really nice. I recommend if you enjoy these types of rooms.
Gameplay
This room flowed really well! I think we got stuck on like 2 puzzles because it was hard to get a clear direction on where to go next.
Atmosphere
I really liked the atmosphere! I’ve done a lot of scary rooms and this room was the first that made me feel uncomfortable.
Customer service
Our gamemaster for this room was awesome. I really liked her sense of humor even as the kidnapper came in I was having a blast. The hint system was really cool in this room and even then she was funny.
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
I mean. It’s a serial killer room. You can expect the same across but they had some really interesting puzzles that made it extremely unique.
Story
My husband caught up on the story but I didn’t really see a story. He told me after what happened but I just don’t pick up on those things.
Difficulty
Medium
So. Before the game, we were asked if we wanted standard or advanced. We asked how dark the room would be because we are not good at dark rooms (we’ve done two and even though they were fun, we are just terrible at them). She said it was going to remain pretty dark so we took the standard room because we knew we were just not going to be good at it. Little did we know, at the end, she informed us that she switched it to the advanced. We made it out with three minutes left. I didn’t feel like the advanced was too difficult? I’m saying this because I don’t know what the standard one entails. Even though we got hung up on two puzzles, we flew through the room.
Game tech
Mechanical
Not a lot of maglocks.
Ideal number of players
4
I believe 4 is the limit. It was a little tight for 2 people.
Scary
Spooky
The opening interaction was the spookiest part. The game itself was not that scary, it was just uncomfortable. But in a good way.
Minimum age
14
This would probably freak out some younger kids.
Was anything broken?
No
Live actors
No
Same with down the rabbit hole, an interaction at the beginning but was alone after that.
Physically active
Somewhat
There is one part where you have to crawl, but not very active.
Accessibility
It does have small rooms with large props that take up a lot of space. You will be in the dark for some of the game. No color or sound based puzzles.
