The year 1866 was signalized by a remarkable incident, a mysterious and inexplicable phenomenon, which doubtless no one has yet forgotten. Throughout the globe, many ships encountered a terrifying undersea beast that nearly tore them to shreds. This gigantic narwhal has caused so much commotion that multiple crews have decided to join together, go after the creature and end this horrible tale once and for all. You are aboard one of these hunting ships. It’s been months, but you have yet to find the monster. The sea is peaceful tonight as you and your companions tend to the deck. That’s when you first notice the strange light near the horizon. It seems to be moving towards you faster and faster and faster. Your screams come too late; your boat is hit by this incredible animal. As you and your crew fall backwards into the cold ocean, you can’t help but think that this is how it all ends. But you never do hit the sea. Your eyes open up and you realize you are standing on top of a steel machine, barely out of the water. The creature moves as if it was more than mere gears and levers. It moves as if it were alive. Could this be the monster that’s been attacking all these ships? A hatch opens up and a group of men come out for just enough time to pull you in. One thing is for sure, this is no narwhal.

⚓️ My first a/maze game! Some mixed feelings. We spent a lot of time at the beginning just trying to figure out where to start, and puzzles felt a little sparse (maybe to balance out the brainpower spent on the aforementioned? lol). A few puzzles we were able to complete “by accident”, which we only realized after the fact — I didn’t love that. Still, I appreciated the creativity of the room. A very hands-on game requiring dexterity and running with only one physical lock. An okay time!

This room had a lot of potential that it very nearly lived up to. It was a fantastic attempt at a great concept, and deserves recognition for that. A couple of The finer mechanics of the room felt like they were packing a little bit, but the overall room was a good time.
Not particularly immersive or impressive, but definitely a fun energy.
