The bizarre murders of Charlotte and her little sister at the hands of their seemingly deranged father shocked this close-knit community and still resonates to this day. Now, 20 years later you and your team have returned to the scene of the grisly crime. There has always been something about this crime that just didn’t add up. Why did Gerald Grundy murder his daughters and then kill himself ? What did he do with the bodies? So many questions. Will you find out what really happened in this sinister old house or will you possibly share the Grundy’s fate?

I’m over rooms that are pitch black and only give you one light for the group. Doesn’t make the room scarier, just more frustrating. Luckily we just went with 2 people so it didnt hurt the experience too much. I enjoyed the murder mystery aspect (you had to escape AND figure out who actually committed some murders) but the clues felt a little too hidden/obtuse to fully solve. Puzzles were average standard room ones generally.

46 escape rooms

When I did this room with my team of 4 people, it was only 45 minutes. We were pretty far off of the solution. This room was not reset correctly which added some confusion to the flow of this room. The atmosphere was nice, it was dark, but I felt some of the clues were a stretch to make a logical connection with.

Gameplay

Gameplay was OK. It was confusing at times because some clues did not logically flow together.

Atmosphere

The set was well constructed but dark.

Customer service

The game master did not correctly reset this room. But really didn't care even though it did add to the confusion for our group.

Standard locks but mostly brain puzzles.

This is definitely the best room I have done at Captive Escape. It has a spooky feel to it and creates an immersive environment. There are a few puzzles that do feel rather random but some of the other puzzles make up for that. The rooms at Captive are not the best rooms ever but this one is definitely worth checking out.
