170 escape rooms

The fact that this room is on a WW II aircraft carrier offered so much potential but it just fell short. Unfortunately, there were massive technical errors during our game. After the game the GM told us the power blinked the night before and no one told them. But that led to 2 GMs being in the room with us for the first 20+ minutes while they fixed some of the tech. After the game, we had questions about how one thing happened and the GM said he “was playing the game with us” from the control room so he did it for us. Kind of a bummer because it was probably one of the funnest things to do in the room. We’ve been going over this room for a day now and we think that even if the tech worked perfectly, it still had some flaws as far as game play. If you’re going to the USS Lexington, it’s cool to go up into this area, just set your expectations appropriately.

Gameplay

It may be novel but it did not flow well and wasn’t terribly fun

Atmosphere

It was on an actual aircraft carrier, so that’s cool.

37 escape rooms

For an escape room made for the museum, it was nice. The atmosphere was very cool and allowed you to work with actual boat equipment! The effects were very cool (a bit silly but fun) as well. While the story was nice, it was not always clear about what should happen next. The museum announcements were played along with our story announcements so that distracted us from our goals at some points (forgetting part of a task we heard verbally), and they were also a bit hard to hear if you weren’t in the main room. A lot of locks were around the room but it turns out they were all used for staff purposes, so the staff might need to label them more clearly. Our GM was very friendly and provided helpful hints, so we were able to escape with 10 minutes left. It also comes with museum admission, so still very fun despite its flaws

room is on a boat, so in order to get to the escape room, you needed to climb 3 ladders

Accessibility

escape room is located up 3 flights of ladders, multiple doorways include a porthole (due to room being on a boat), lights go out multiple times during escape (flashlights were provided), announcements with instructions were hard to hear at times, and a successful escape in the final room has colorful flashing lights
