Chaos Effect

Chaos Effect had a really cool idea and proved to be quite a challenge for our group! Don't want to give away too much as the intro is pretty vague for a reason, but overall, I will say this room is pretty much as advertised. It's difficult, unique, and you don't really know what's going on. Although the concept was really cool and all the behind-the-scenes work that goes into the room during gameplay was neat, some clues were very vague, and the attention to detail that one had to have was quite a lot. A lot of time-killing parts as well, which was necessary, but made it difficult to maintain momentum.

Overall room was good. Cool effects and very immersive, however the room was a bit glitchy and unfortunately missed something during room set up which prevented us from solving one of the puzzles.

There is a unique twist to this room that makes it like no other room I’ve done before. It was a cool concept, and it’s better to go into it knowing as little as possible. It is also worth noting that you get 70 minutes instead of the typical 60 minutes, which was needed given running between rooms took away a significant amount of time.

A lot of things ate up time in this room, like a video that dragged on and on, and having to wait 20 seconds before doors would open, and having to do certain things over and over to go between rooms and having to move as a group and not being allowed to explore freely. I liked the concept of this room but the execution didn’t work for me. There were also way too many red herrings, in my opinion.

The room has a cool mechanic that you learn once you do it thought it was a cool element added to it
