It was cool, hard to do it online with a group as only in person controls the game at a time. It would have been better if everyone can participate at once like in a real escape room

Hallows Hill is a thrilling cinematic masterpiece that raises the bar for online escape room experiences. High production quality increases the immersion through striking visuals, great voice acting, meticulous sound effects and a chilling score. Paired with its gripping story and clever puzzles, this makes for a nerve-wracking 90+ minutes. This game is perfect for Halloween or a dark winter night. A thoughtfully made virtual escape room that quite honestly tops the list I’ve played to date. The narrative was delivered seamlessly throughout ‘Hallows Hill’, with little reading feeling superfluous to the overarching experience. The aesthetics were tasteful and exciting — the faded, worn and weary media contained across the house looked great and made me long for a real, tangible experience that rivals the design of Hallows Hill. Thematically, ‘Hallows Hill’ employs ample spiritualism and haunted house tropes and props to firmly place the players into a familiar supernatural world, with the story similarly staying within that realm’s tried-and-true formula. A few twists unfurl along the way, which I’d love to see translated onto a big screen production for a rather refreshing take on contacting the dead.

The app worked very well (we used Firefox). The “virtual backpack” allowing all players to examine objects on their individual devices is very nice. Solid tutorial and we had no technical difficulties. The game has very good production values: excellent graphics and atmospheric audio. The story was interesting if a bit predictable. Limited interactivity within the scenes, and the puzzles aren’t that great, but we had fun. Recommended.

For an online game which we paid about 24 bucks in total for, this was a fun time. We played with 4 players split up and streamed over zoom. It was a good time. Interesting puzzles and a decent inventory system where although one person is certainly at the helm, the whole team can look at the items , clues and suggest puzzles. Choose a good leader and this can be a fun collaborative time. Not scary but that’s okay!

This is one of the more technically impressive and great story driven online escape games. I strongly recommend it. This is a downloadable experience that can be played on your own time.

An excellent online escape game experience! There's a good story (although logically, some of the story beats seem odd) and a great set of puzzles surrounding it. Unlike other virtual games I've played, this one felt like an actual location. In other words, I felt like I was walking around a real mansion and not just a "virtual escape room" approximation of a mansion. I’m also a huge fan of point-and-click adventure games, and this was very much one. The puzzles are a bit math-heavy, which I liked, though others might not. It's also linear and is a bit on the easy side because there isn't a whole lot to actually interact with or observe. Also, I wasn't a fan of the final challenge, but I liked the effects and how the story concluded. The cinematics are very top-notch professional, and the scares are real! Best part is that you can play this online or just huddled around one screen. My group of 4 played this on a computer hooked up to a television and it worked out well! We played with friends who had not done in-person escape rooms but enjoyed puzzles and puzzle video games, and we all had a blast!
