This was a great room. You start separated and have to find a way to reunite, then use the remaining time to solve the room. All the puzzles worked perfectly for us, and the logical progression of the room is very good. The set dressing is also enjoyable. No knowledge of Poe is required. The staff was also very friendly and supportive.

A puzzle at the end in particular was something I haven't done before.

There were some challenging parts, but we (2 people) only used one hint and we were never concerned about getting out on time.

We did it with two, but you do start split up, so it might be nice to have two people on each side

Crouching down and crawling is required in one part
The rooms are big enough for a wheelchair, but one part involves crawling and there are some puzzles at standing height. There is also a color puzzle and an audio puzzle. The rooms have some lighting that can make it difficult to see, but not as dark as other rooms I've been in.

I had a bad experience due to unintentional sequence breaking. We triggered the solution to a major puzzle by accident, then the rest of the room made no sense after this. I’m sure the room would’ve been good without this sequence break, but my play through was pretty much ruined by it. 2/5

The game starts of separated into two different rooms, and our team was split into two in each. The overall room is not inherently creepy in nature, but IS obviously based on Edgar Allen Poe, so if you are not a fun of the strange and unusual, you may not enjoy this room. There is an audio pattern that must be solved in one of the rooms of this game, and if you are not musically coordinated it may be difficult to do so.

Great room with great staff! Starting position matters for this one, we started in the wrong rooms and it was a tough recovery. Super fun though and lots of unique elements.

A fun game with a split start (not a spoiler they tell you on the outset). Communication is key here. Good job!

While their other site is no longer available, glad to see this one is going strong. The quality of the rooms at this location are much better. This was a great room. Only in the escape room industry would you find a common theme of Edgar Allan Poe, which does come up every now and then. That said, this company/room is a standout, even in that very specific genre. Beautiful set design with multiple rooms. Themed puzzles among Poe’s different works and a nice flow. Definitely not an easy room and lots to take in/do, so would recommend at least four people.

Amazing set!

Fairly easy room with a fun theme. Fun to do with less-experienced escapers. The ending was a bit frustrating, but overall a decent game!!

My spouse and I had a great time playing this room as a duo. We escaped with about 15 minutes left. We enjoy the extra challenge of starting in separate rooms -- it'll definitely get you working together and communicating! The atmosphere was good and we especially liked how well the puzzles tied in with the theme. The rooms have some mildly spooky decor, but most of the spookiness is confined to one part so only one person needs to be marginally brave. This is definitely not what I'd consider a scary or horror room. We especially enjoyed how the puzzles tied in with the theme. While no familiarity with Poe's work is required, fans will appreciate all the nods and references. Our gms, Vanessa and Eli, were both super friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. Thanks guys!
We really enjoyed how the puzzles tied in to the theme.

There was a mix of mechanical locks and high tech elements.

I think 2-3 players is the sweet spot for most rooms, including this one. There's plenty of physical space for 4-5 though, and the parallel puzzling means different people can be working on different things.

Street parking can be a challenge since this location is on a busy street in old town Alexandria with lots of restaurants and shops.

This was a creative room that made nice use of a relatively small space, and each and every puzzle was very enjoyable. We played as a team of two and got out in only 37 minutes because I solved a puzzle before I was "supposed" to be able to, which I take to mean that the design of the room could be improved. The GM was kind enough to let us go back and solve the skipped puzzles since we had so much time left, but it only took us three minutes to solve those puzzles as well. Additionally, there were a couple of moments in the room where the tech didn't work as well as it was supposed to, which wasn't too frustrating but it could use some polishing. Theme-wise, I don't think the paranormal aspect of the theme shines through, but the Edgar Allen Poe aspect of the theme certainly does, and is much stronger than another Poe-themed room I did in January. Overall, it was an enjoyable room and we would definitely do another room at this location.
GM was very kind and respectful of our request surrounding hints! The staff were also very kind to hold my water bottle for me when I realized I left it in the room and wouldn't be able to pick it up until the next day.
Some puzzles may be challenging to folks with dyslexia, one puzzle requires hearing, another requires the ability to differentiate colors, and some require the ability to crouch and/or crawl
Medium
The location doesn't have dedicated parking, but there are lots of public parking lots around the area. We went on a Sunday which meant it cost only 45 cents to park for 2hrs.
