110 escape rooms
Magic-themed room with plenty of magic effects. Story wasn’t particularly strong, and some puzzles weren’t great, but the theme and set design were strong enough to make the room quite good overall. I always enjoy magic effects in escape rooms, and this room had some winners. 4/5
408 escape rooms
I love this room for so many reasons. There are certain rooms that you do that are just so great that you look back and want to do them again. These rooms are timeless and still hold up (and cabbage compete with new escape rooms). In addition, sometimes you get a friend to do the first escape room, and it gets them hooked. Wizard's Apothecary offered both. A very beautiful room with complex yet intuitive puzzles. The themes of magic potions provided lots of wonderful moments. Put this game on your wishlist. It's amazing.

We loved this unique room. I would highly recommend. Only negative is that it’s only in one room. But it’s a really cool room.
Cool special effects! Loved this room! The only drawback is it’s only one room.
Staff is amazing. It’s owned by The Escape Game and they always have the best game masters. We went early on a weekday and they offered 40% off to play another game. Usually they offer 20% off to play another game.

It’s in a nice location in historic Alexandria. Perfect to walk to many ice cream stores.

Parking could be hard to find on the street. We found a parking lot a block away. It was $3 for 2 hours on a weekday so not bad.
50 escape rooms
We really loved the other room we did at Escape Room Live that was Sherlock themed - unfortunately this one fell really flat. It was kind of all over the place, and we found that the puzzles were really worn down. There were also a couple that were broken and not reset correctly but the game master was good about coming in and fixing that for us. It just wasn’t our favorite, and I would recommend the Sherlock: A Matter of Time at this location much more.
The gameplay was ok, but it was the puzzles themselves that were broken and caused hiccups.

This was such a great theme for a room, with several really neat puzzles to solve. The ending is a little lackluster, but the journey there is a blast. This is a great room if you’ve got kids with you, or really enjoy classic magic stories.
