Really cool how escape artistry ties in Chicago history into each of their games! Especially as a born and raised Chicagoan it’s fun seeing the different themes.

AMAZING set design, on par and even better than the large franchises. Really set the mood, and had some fun dexterity puzzles as well. Really well done!

The theming and decor of Roaring Dan’s is next level! The story could have used a stronger tie in but the puzzles were super unique and had some concepts that I’ve never seen before.

Arrrrr ye maties! This pirate room is actually themed after a real-life Chicago pirate Roaring Dan of the Great Lakes. The premise of the actual room is that we are time traveling to this pirate dungeon to find an anachronistic item. Ironically the most anachronistic item is the keypad on the door. Everything else is old, and by old, I mean these items and props had so much wear and tear that I thought they were gonna literally fall apart. Also, unfortunately the room gets very hot in the summer because the only air is circulation is through ceiling fans. Issues aside, I did have overall fun with the room. It’s a common theme so yes I have seen better pirate themed rooms in the area and outside Chicago. But this is still likely a fun experience for families. GM is fun too! Just don’t get dehydrated or scurvy!

The puzzles are showing age/wear-and-tear. One of the puzzles didn’t open, so the game master had to come in and set us up for the next puzzle while the clock kept running). The game master was fun, energetic, and really kept to the theme. Overall still fun with a creative and historically-relevant theme.
