A daring escape beneath the sea awaits you and a partner in The Abyss Escape Room in Koreatown, LA, a cinematic escape room game designed uniquely for two players of any level of experience. Teamwork is key in this medium-difficulty puzzle game room, as players must work together to overcome the deceptively simple challenges found on board a submarine bound for an underwater prison complex. But be careful! Just when things seem to start going your way, you might find yourself contending with an especially unwelcome visitor! Your time on the run has come to an end. You and your partner have been convicted of high crimes against the state, and as punishment you will be locked away for life! You are slated to serve out your sentence in Coldwater Prison, a notoriously sinister prison complex from which nobody has ever escaped. For good reason, too – Coldwater Prison lies at the very bottom of the ocean! Your journey to Coldwater runs through a small submarine attached to a giant chain that runs from the surface of the water to Coldwater Prison. Once inside, it will only be 60 minutes before you find yourself locked away at the bottom of the ocean. And even if you can both find a way to break out of your constraints, the deepest parts of the ocean are home to all sorts of unknown creatures. If only that hacker friend you did that favor for hadn’t gone silent the minute you found yourself behind bars. What will happen at the end of your adventure? Will you earn your freedom, or will remain trapped in The Abyss Escape Room? Located in the heart of Koreatown, Maze Rooms on S. Vermont offers some of the most exciting puzzle games room experiences in Los Angeles. We’re on the forefront of the latest generation of escape rooms – each of our 60-minute adventures interweave technology and practical design elements into both Mazeroom puzzles and storytelling to create unbelievable experiences for any occasion. very “fix it” type room rather than actual puzzles, just a lot of tasks you needed to do, with props that didn’t really work. the concept was cool but the execution was lacking

Cute room! Solved it pretty fast, nothing too puzzling besides the mechanics of the room itself. Fun for a little date. Did not take us the whole hour. Not scary, but it’s atmospheric for sure.

I liked the theme and the effects of the game that gives you an immersive experience! Definitely, it creates tension! I liked also the fact that was built only for 2 people. I definitely recommend it to people who want to have fun as a small team. The game master Mariam was very friendly and very helpful when we asked her help.

I wanna start by saying this was such a frustrating experience to say the least And please do yourself a favor and pick the magical kingdom room instead here’s why: from the looks of the advertised pictures, it seems as though this room is more than just techy and alludes to it being multiple rooms…. Not the case, I can see how more than 2 people would be able to complete this room and I’m sure thats the max but I dont know for sure so don’t quote me… (GM let us know that this room was made to take up the 6x4 ft room they had left over from other rooms) Next: the use of pre video recordings where incredibly tough to hear and like most rooms that contain recorded messages it was very muffled and impossible to complete The puzzles were strictly buttons pushing puzzles ( besides 1 ) and the puzzles consisted of listening to the recordings closely ( which I have already addressed that problem) To talk to GM you must use a walkie and when we went in the station was not set so I had to sit there for a couple min. Flipping through 16 channels to get to the right one ( I almost accidentally placed a truck stop pizza order in the process) might be circumstantial but definitely wanted to note All together we left feeling frustrated and thus going straight into the magician kingdom which must say SOOOO GOOOD

The Positive: Our game master was very sweet and kind, the room decor was good. The negative: very confused on what to do next and what was the correct way to do the puzzles. I think if this room just got a little refurbished it would be allot better of a time for a two player single room escape.

Fun two person game. Not a lot of thrills, older game but let's you test your skills working with just one other person.

This room was amazing! The visuals and puzzles were beautiful and well thought out. It is mind blowing how much can fit into one room. It really brings the whole game to life. In my opinion better then many 3-5 room escape rooms i’ve played

This is a unique game, it is very small, but there’s a lot in it! I will say it’s definitely not intended the best for tall people, a lot of puzzles and such below knee height. It’s definitely challenging, but doable and the immersion is pretty solid!
For as small of a space, I give it a lot of credit. The screens and motion are used very well to make you feel like you are being submerged.
“The technology employed in this small space was just super duper impressive.“
