The room was very nicely themed, immersive and some of the interactive and skill based puzzles were fun. There was a heavy reliance on one puzzle solving technique which ended up being a bit repetitive but some of the clues were fun. Overall I give this room a solid thumbs up but it wasn’t particularly special.

4 escape rooms

We did this escape room with 2 adults and 2 children (8 years old and younger). I highly recommend this 2 rooms for beginners and younger children with the help of adults. The Egyptian Tomb has some great puzzles and definitely has a nice wow factor to it. Our gamemaster Harmony was great! She helped us when we definitely needed it and allowed us to discover when we needed it.

Gameplay

I would say that some of the puzzles were pretty novel and cool. Everything flowed very well.

Atmosphere

LOVE the design. It's inspired by the classic Indiana Jones trilogy. Complete with EVEN sand!

Customer service

Harmony was VERY welcoming and accommodating. She gave us hints when we needed it after we were really struggling with a puzzle but not too much where it's not fun.

Story

With it based on our favorite archaeologist, it was a very memorable experience.

Game tech

High tech

Definitely got some cool tech in this room! Almost feels like magic!

Ideal number of players

There isn't really too many puzzles to solve at the same time. Everything is pretty linear and sequential that I would recommend this for a small group and maybe even smaller for experienced escapers.

Scary

Minimum age

There are some puzzles that younger kids would be able to do depending on their height with a guidance of an adult beside them.

Parking

Easy

Parking on the street would be the cheapest for those who can arrive early enough to find one. Otherwise, if you're running late, paying for parking in the lot right next to the location can be pricey.

I love an Egyptian themed room and this one didn’t disappoint! We were pairs with 4 teens who had never done a room before and there were puzzles for the novice and seasoned player.

Egyptian Tomb: Trapped in an ancient Egyptian tomb our team of archaeologists to discover the mysteries of the tomb, locate a missing archaeologist, and find a way out. The Big Game: The opposing team was trying to sabotage us on the big game day. Locked in the coach's office, our group of football players had to find a way out before the championship game. Casino Heist: Our team of robbers had to break into the casino vault and get the goods before the police arrived to haul us away to jail. Pros: The experience at Escape Works is top notch from the moment you walk in. The waiting area is nice and clean and the game masters are professional and courteous. The set in each room is simple and decorated to fit the theme. Props are minimal but the few props fit with the overall storyline. The emphasis is less on searching and more on solving the puzzles themselves, which is what we enjoy the most. The puzzles were all logical and linear and worked best with small groups of 6 or less. Smaller group sizes were also best since the rooms themselves were very small. We successfully escaped all three rooms (in spite of ourselves at times). Everybody had a great time! Cons: These rooms definitely work best for smaller groups of people since moving around can be difficult with too many people. The puzzles ranged in complexity and there were a few moments when we were completely stumped and could have used hints a little earlier. The hint system worked but was a bit delayed at times. Some of the puzzles in the Big Game were less logical and therefore delayed our progress. We loved Casino Heist but our brains definitely hurt after trying to solve the mathematical based puzzles there.

Did this room solo while on a biz trip to Denver. It was just enough of a challenge to make it exciting but not so difficult I felt overwhelmed. For my first time by myself it was a great fit. The two GMs were super helpful. Hinting system was great. The room itself was very well designed with lots of great immersive features and really great art.

This room was fun but very dark, which made it difficult to see. The 4 of us got paired with a dad and his 2 young kids. That made it hard to move around the tiny spaces. 7 is WAY too many people. 2-3 would have been better. Some of the clues were hard to figure out. Atmosphere and story was Indiana Jones like.

I didn’t like that the rooms weren’t private. My sisters and I were in a room with a couple on a date and a grandma with her 10 yr old grandson. Creates a weird dynamic.

I felt like this location gave too many clues without us asking for them. The clues were helpful, but tainted our success a little.

Not a big fan of this company and the a-typical themes. The puzzles are very mechanical and traditional without anything new and exciting. I also don't know why they don't allow for private rooms because we had a huge crew of people we knew, and two people we didn't. These rooms are far too small to handle the max number of people (12 people). Because of that and the rooms being linear, there's not enough puzzles for everyone to participate on.
