37 escape rooms
Fun game. The game flow made sense and overall I enjoyed the puzzles and game itself. The room made me feel like I was truly in an airport, which is hard to accomplish in a 300 square foot room. What I had an issue with was the game master, when we asked for a clue we had to tell them where we were in the game and then she gave us a clue for the next puzzle that we weren’t even on yet. When we told her we weren’t there yet, she then gave us a clue for something we already knew. Frustrated, we didn’t ask again. Luckily we managed to figure that puzzle out. But I think since we lost a good 5/7 minutes there, we didn’t escape. Which is really frustrating. If I pay $100 for 3 of us to play, I would expect the game master to have their full attention on us and our experience. Also, we also had to google a chemical formula. Shouldn’t everything you need in a game be IN the room? It really took me out of it when I heard the game master say, “you can google things if you need to”. It felt kind weird. We probably will return to Escape Cape May since it’s nearby and we’ve enjoyed the two games we’ve played, but god, I hope we have a game master that actually pays attention. It seems like these ‘masters’ are on multiple games at once and checking people in, so I hope the management can hire more people.
